Mr. George began his television career in the mailroom of KPIX-TV San Francisco and later held roles at KGO-TV San Francisco, KING-TV Seattle and WBZ-TV Boston. One of Mr. George’s key groundbreaking decisions was to hire women as anchors for local news. Later in his career, Mr. George was welcomed back at KPIX where he eventually was promoted to Station Manager. He also worked in national syndication with positions at PM Magazine and MTM Productions. Mr. George is survived by his wife, Ann; his son, Rob; daughter-in-law, Amy; a granddaughter, Erika and a brother, Jim. Lots of development news from USA Network, as the network ordered Partners In Crime to series, All In to pilot and the project The Cowboy Way (wt) is moving into development. Partners In Crime is a docu-soap featuring criminal defense attorney, Mario Gallucci and his partner, Big Lou Gelormino who are partners in the courtroom as well as best friends. Peacock Productions is producing for a 2013 premiere. All In is about Brandon Lang, a successful betting handicapper and in the pilot episode, Lang will knock on the door of an unsuspecting American family with a suitcase full of cash and use his handicapping expertise and his luck to place a series of high stakes bets with the family. Studio Lambert is producing with Brian Graden and Lois Curren as executive producers. The Cowboy Way is a docu-series following the lives of men and women who work on a Texas cattle ranch. Raw TV is producing. In addition, Bride or Best Man from Shed Media begins production next month on a pilot.

Click here to learn about the Awards program & enter online!Friday Fun Fact: Because the movie Halloween (1978) was made on such a tight budget, the cheapest mask was used for the character Michael Meyers, which turned out to be a William Shatner Star Trek mask. Shatner initially didn’t know the mask was in his likeness, but when he found out years later, he said he was honored.
This day in History: 1949 – President Harry Truman increases minimum wage from 40 cents to 75 cents.
Answer to Our Last Trivia Question: What TV show is considered the first African American family sitcom? Good Times (1974-1979)*. This was not supposed to be a “trick” question by any means; a credible online TV resource lists Good Times as the first African American family sitcom though we have to concede African American families were depicted in comedies before the TV show Good Times debuted on CBS, notably Julia (1968-1971) and Sanford and Son (1972-1977). Two other TV comedy shows about African American families came after: The Jeffersons (1975-1985) and The Cosby Show (1984-1992). *Kudos to: Amy DeMauro-Discovery/NYC; Bob Melvin-NBC Sports Group/NYC; Christine Jones-m2 Pictures/Hampton, VA; Yvette Encarnacion-Viacom Media Networks/NYC; Greg Moloznik-GML Media/Scottsdale; Tena Hawkes-University of AZ/Tucson; Adam Zuvich-Shine America/Hollywood; Alexandra Leh-La Cheraqui Media/LA; Leopold Myrie-Omnicom Media Group/Sydney, Australia.
Today’s Trivia Question: With Halloween coming soon… on the comedy series Bewitched what role did Pandora Spocks play in multiple episodes (now this is a trick question!)? (Email [email protected] with your answer and be sure to include your name, company, city and time zone. Unofficial rules: Only the second four correct answers from each time zone will be mentioned; and once you’ve been mentioned in any of the Cynopsis editions, you can’t be mentioned again that calendar week.).
