CNN’s Anderson Cooper is making a move into daytime as host of a new, one-hour daily daytime strip show, scheduled for a national syndication launch in Fall 2011. Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution is distributing the New York-based show produced by Telepictures Productions in association with StrongChild Productions. Cooper will host and executive produce the daily talk show that will delve into topics targeting a daytime audience such as social issues, trends and events, pop culture and celebrity, human interest stories and more. Cooper will continue to helm his weeknight show on CNN, Anderson Cooper 360 at 10p. CNN Worldwide’s President Jim Walton released this statement following the news of Cooper’s upcoming daytime show: “I am pleased that Anderson Cooper has extended his relationship with CNN and will be with us for years to come. I am also pleased to congratulate Anderson on his new relationship with Telepictures. We think it will be good for Anderson, good for CNN and good for Time Warner.” BET Network’s music countdown show, 106 & Park is celebrating its 10th anniversary season this fall and will air two specials in early October. The first is an hour-long show on October 5 at 10p called 106 & Park: 10 Years & Counting then on October 6 at 6p a two-hour live event called 106 & Park: The Celebration, 10 Years Live!!!. Oxygen introduces viewers to the team at B Lynn Group comprised of fashion stylists, hairstylists and makeup artists who style celebrities for red carpet events and music videos in the new docu-series House of Glam premiering next Tuesday at 11p. House of Glam, produced by Left/Right Inc. and The Foundry Media Group, follows a new episode of Bad Girls Club Miami at 9p and the finale of Hair Battle Spectacular at 10p. Also next Tuesday, ESPN brings back its primetime newsmagazine program E:60 at 7p. In six weekly episodes, the series covers multi-subject stories, features and interviews. In the season premiere on October 5, E:60 features an interview with Dan Snyder, a feature about Brock Mealer’s recovery from an accident and a profile on Paul Bedard, the alligator wrestler. MTV is journeying to Prague for the upcoming season of The Challenge ready to premiere October 6 at 10p. During the new season, 30 people will compete in “Cutthroat” a new phase of competition where players push themselves and each other past their breaking points. The show also sports the largest jackpot in its history. On October 10, Turner Classic Movies will air a 24-hour marathon to honor Hollywood movie star Tony Curtis who died yesterday at the age of 85 at his home near Las Vegas. TCM’s marathon will consist of 12 films including many of Curtis’ best known titles such as Operation Petticoat, Sweet Smell of Success, The Great Race and The Defiant Ones. VH1 debuts the new half-hour docu-series Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It on October 18 at 10p. In this new series, viewers will get a glimpse inside rocker Michaels’ family life in Arizona that he shares with his two young daughters when he’s not on the road. 51 Minds Entertainment, an Endemol Company produces the series. DIY Network renewed its interactive home building series, Blog Cabin for a fifth season returning new episodes next summer. Beginning in mid-January, DIY Network and DIYnetwork.com will invite viewers to vote and blog on design features to renovate an early 1900s waterfront home located on the Chesapeake Bay in eastern Virginia. The fifth season will bow in August 2011 in primetime and one viewer will have a chance to win this vacation cabin. Licensed contractor Matt Blashaw hosts Blog Cabin. Syfy is moving the premiere date of its upcoming weekly reality series Hollywood Treasure again. The series will now open on October 27 with back-to-back episodes at 10p and 1030p. FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) picked up the international rights to the original series Operation Wild airing on Planet Green. The series is co-produced by Leslie Greif’s Boutique TV Inc. and Planet Green. FME will handle the international sales at MIPCOM on Season 1 (6 eps, 30 min) and Season 2 (10 eps, 30 min). Season two of Operation Wild is set to premiere in the US on Planet Green November 5 at 9p. Starz brings several projects to MIPCOM located at stand #RSV 25:

TLC is partnering with Ryan Seacrest Productions on a new candid kid-type series hosted by comedic actor Brad Garrett. The series, with six one-hour episodes, has been approved by the network and will begin production with a planned roll out next spring. The series will feature in-studio segments, field segments as well as viewer-generated content. Garrett will also engage kids to talk about everything from politics to religion and family/life topics to current events. Paris Hilton will soon be back on TV in a new docu-series produced for Oxygen Media by A. Smith & Co. Productions. The New Untitled Paris Hilton Project will follow the real-life Hilton and four women important in her life, three close friends and her mother, Kathy. Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) is re-tooling a new version of the classic television series, The Munsters and NBC has ordered a pilot, reports EW. In other NBC news, the network is revamping a UK reality show called The Boss Is Coming to Dinner and has given the project a pilot order, cites Variety. Zodiak USA is producing the project about a group of job applicants who must invite their future employer to their home to a dinner party. Also at NBC, is a half-hour comedy from Jack Black based on the nonfiction book, The Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life as an Experiment. The plot is about a guy who is fixated on self-improvement through difficult experiments that stress out his family. Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa are set to write. FOX gave a put pilot order to a single-camera family comedy titled Connected from writer Nahnatchka Khan and RJ Cutler. Connected is about two families who become linked through a romantic relationship between their teenage children. 20th Century Fox Television is producing with Khan on board as writer and executive producing along with Cutler. Eric Winter (ABC’s Brothers & Sisters) is joining CBS’ The Mentalist starting with next week’s episode, per THR. Winter’s character is Craig O’Laughlin, an ex-football player now FBI agent who also is battling for Grace’s (Amanda Righetti) affections. Casting Call: A major cable network is looking for upscale, close-knit Long Island families for a new documentary-style series. The producers are seeking families who have multiple generations with lots of siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins who have a strong sense of humor and love each other enough to disagree. The family should consist of members who are mostly over 21 years, with varying personalities, points of view, talents and lifestyles all in one family. Wednesday A18-49 Analysis: CBS had a bit of a back-slide Wednesday night though still posted a #1 at 3.2/10 A18-49, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, CBS’ Survivor: Nicaragua prevailed at 3.5/11 followed by heat from FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen at 2.8/9 and ABC’s comedies The Middle and Better With You averaged a third place at 2.3/7. Another double batch of sitcoms on ABC went to the top as Modern Family and Cougar Town averaged a 3.7/10 though just a tenth of a rating point ahead of CBS’ Criminal Minds at 3.6/10 and a second helping of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX came in third at 3.0/8.
