* MORE GOOD STUFF *

NBC

has already and significantly changed its 2006-07 primetime program schedule by re-positioning several new and returning series including the fall return of Crossing Jordan, and Medium moved to mid-season status.  The new line-up is:
Monday:  Deal or No Deal, Heroes, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip  (original lineup had Medium at 10p)
Tuesday: Friday Night Lights, Law & Order: CI, Law & Order: SVU (original lineup had Kidnapped at 9p)
Wednesday: 20 Good Years, 30 Rock, The Biggest Loser, Kidnapped  (original lineup had Biggest Loser, the 2 sitcoms followed by L&O)
Thursday: My Name Is Earl, The Office, Deal or No Deal, ER/(The Black Donnellys – in Jan ’07) ( (original lineup had Studio 60 at 9p)
Friday: Crossing Jordan, Las Vegas, Law & Order  (original lineup had Deal or No Deal at 8p)
Saturday: Dateline Saturday, Drama Series Encores  (no changes)
Sunday: 7-8p Football Night in America, 8-11p Sunday Night Football  (no changes)

The Fox-owned stations who are affiliated with MyNetwork TV have picked up the syndicated weekend run of Desperate Housewives.  Distributed by Buena Vista Television, the station group has signed a two year deal and the show will begin running on the MyNetwork TV stations in the fall of 2008. The terms of the deal was a straight 7/7 barter split.

NBC News will offer selected video news and documentary programming for purchase and download from the iTunes Music Store, effectively, well, right now! The pieces will include past news and documentary bits as well as new programs available exclusively for iTunes. Each program is priced at $1.99 per download and has a wide variety of current and historical programming from NBC News, CNBC and MSNBC.

The syndicated crime drama Da Vinci’s Inquest, distributed in the U.S. by Program Partners, will be around for year two with clearances in 98% of the country and more than 200 station affiliates. Here in its freshman season in the US, the show delivered a season-to-date 2.1AA/2.2 GAA and a season average of 1.8 AA/2.0 GAA in year one.

FOX’s American Idol achieved stellar ratings last night, and here are some other interesting ratings facts: According to Nielsen Fast Nationals for the 8-10p average, Idol averaged 14.2/35 A18-49, but pulled in its largest audience in the W25-54 demo with a 19.1 rating; followed by W18-49 at 17.6/40; W18-34 at 16.8/41. The 2-hour finale was viewed by 36.4 million total viewers, the biggest night ever in the history of Fox in the Total Viewer category (not including sports).  As Taylor Hicks would say, “whooooo!”.

Canada’s #1 comedy series Corner Gas will be coming to American TV. CTV has signed an agreement with Arthur Hasson’s Multi-Platform Distribution Company to market the show to U.S. networks right away. Since its launch in January 2004, Corner Gas has been the only scripted series on Canada’s Top 20 list; it was nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2004; and won the equivalent of Canada’s Emmy Award, the Gemini Award, in 2005. Featuring an ensemble cast, the comedy is about a group of nobodies who don’t do much of anything in the fictional rural town of Dog River, Saskatchewan. (And if you’re a fan of Arthur’s as I am, you’ll want to add his email to your address book. Give him a shout!  [email protected].)

Animal Planet

will debut a new series Caught in the Moment on July 10 at 9p that follows the footsteps of two wildlife filmmakers, Tristan Bayer and Vanessa Garnick. The pair was childhood sweethearts and now best friends who share a passion for nature and living their dream to find and film animals all over the world.

Bravo’s culinary competition show Top Chef completed its first season as cable’s #1 food program in the A18-49 and A25-54 demos. The season finale on May 24 at 10p earned more than one million viewers in both the A18-49 and A25-54 demos. Overall, the show averaged 866,000 A18-49 viewers and 819,000 A25-54 viewers through the season.

We asked buyers this week which of the new fall series on the broadcast nets are you most excited about and here’s how you voted:
NBC programs got the majority of votes with 67%.  Of the NBC programs, buyers are most intrigued by Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, receiving the lions share of votes; while Heroes, The Black Donnellys and Friday Night Lights were all grouped at #2.  ABC received 16% of the votes, CBS 11%, Fox 8% and The CW 3% (which is also the network with only 90m of new programming). No votes for MyNetwork TV two new programs.
