Esquire Network picked up the exclusive cable television rights to NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Beginning Wednesday, April 24, episodes will air on Esquire Network Monday through Friday at 7p, one week after they first air on NBC. This acquisition marks the first talk show addition to the network’s programming slate, which also includes the previously announced originals Knife Fight and The Getaway in addition to the series Parks and Recreation and Party Down, launching April 22. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is from Universal Television and Broadway Video. Formerly known as G4, Esquire Network will launch this April in 62 million households nationwide, as well as online, mobile, On Demand and other platforms. Esquire Network is a unit of NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, a division of NBCUniversal.

The uniqueness of running a funeral business is highlighted in Discovery Fit & Health’s new Funeral Boss, set to premiere on Thursday, March 14 at 10p. The six-episode series is produced by High Noon Entertainment in association with Coolfire Originals Media for Discovery Fit & Health.
Oxygen’s new Find Me My Man will bow on Tuesday, April 2 at 9p. The series follows Miami matchmaker Natalie Clarice, known as the “Titan of Love” as she tries to find love for Miami’s hardest-to-please professional women. Endemol USA produces the series.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars Kim Zolciak and Kandi Burruss each has her own series on Bravo, airing in back-to-back episodes on Tuesday, April 9 at 9p and immediately following at 10p. Zolciak stars in Don’t Be Tardy… and The Kandi Factory follows Grammy Award winner Burruss as she mentors aspiring musical artists. Don’t Be Tardy… is produced by True Entertainment; The Kandi Factory is also from True Entertainment and Kandi Koated Entertainment.
Television comedy legends Carol Burnett and Tim Conway are reuniting with Betty White in an upcoming episode of TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland. The episode tapes on March 22 and is scheduled to air in August. Burnett will play Victoria’s (Wendie Malick) mother Penny, while Conway will return to the series as Nick, Elka’s (Betty White) ex-boyfriend. Hot in Cleveland premieres its summer season with a live episode on Wednesday, June 19 at 10p and is produced by Hazy Mills Productions.
Supernatural series Lost Girl received a fourth season renewal from Syfy. A 3-episode new season returns in 2014. In its current third season, which concludes Monday, April 22 at 10p, Lost Girl is averaging 676,000 among A18-49 and 1.3 million total viewers. Lost Girl was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase.
A new season of Animal Planet’s River Monsters opens Sunday, April 7 at 9p. Host, biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade once again takes viewers along as he searches for mutant fish among Chernobyl’s nuclear wastelands to America in pursuit of a prehistoric underwater vampire fish. River Monsters is a co-production of Icon Films and Animal Planet. The new season will end with a special Memorial Day two-hour season finale on Monday, May 27 at 9p.
New digital lifestyle network PowerwomanTV launches in New York City cabs today, created by Emmy-nominated producer and TV personality Amy Palmer. The programming focuses on style, talk, food, business, career, parenting and celebrities. PowerwomanTV will launch wide as of mid-April and will be streamed through various syndication partners.
Former swimsuit model Carol Alt will have her own weekend show on Fox News Channel as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. This new show, expected to premiere in the next several months, will not focus on politics or news; it will offer beauty and healthy living advice.
Emmy Award-winning actress Allison Janney will next guest star in a five-episode arc on the new one-hour Showtime drama series Masters of Sex. Janney will play Margaret Scully, the wife of Beau Bridges’ character, University Provost Barton Scully. Production on the first season is taking place in Los Angeles. Showtime has slated the premiere date for Sunday, September 29 at 10p. Sony Pictures Television is producing.
All My Children fans will be glad to learn Adam Chandler will continue his dastardly deeds. Prospect Park confirmed the five-time Daytime Emmy winner David Canary will reprise his role in the series’ upcoming iTunes/Hulu relaunch. Canary joins previously announced returnees Julia Barr (Brooke), Darnell Williams (Jesse Hubbard), Debbi Morgan (Angela Hubbard), Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward), Lindsay Hartley (Cara Castillo Martin), Jordi Vilasuso (Griffin Castillo), Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt) and Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater).
The Bloomberg Media Group, a division of Bloomberg L.P., made a multi-year rolling partnership deal with Nigeria-based content provider, Optima Media Group. The agreement strengthens Bloomberg’s role as a leading supplier of global business and financial news via television across the African continent. As a result, the partnership creates a new entity – Bloomberg Television Africa – which launches in the second half of this year. At this time, Optima Media Group will produce 3-4 hours of business programming per day available to African viewers across Africa via Bloomberg’s English-language EMEA feed.
Telemundo Media and Warner Music Latina forged a partnership to sign and develop new and up-and-coming Latin musical talent. The first artist to be signed is Gabriel Coronel, a novela star from Telemundo’s Relaciones Pelligrosas. As part of this deal, Telemundo will run multi-platform promotional campaigns on its networks, Telemundo and mun2 as well as its local and digital properties.

Univision Network reports that it closes the February 2013 Sweep period in a historical fourth place position during primetime among A18-49 and A18-34, marking the first time the network ranks #4 in any February sweep period in the A18-49 demo. The February 2013 sweep is also the first time Univision finishes ahead of NBC in any sweep period among A18-49. Additionally, Univision during the February sweep period was the #1 network on Friday night among A18-49 ahead of next nearest competitor, ABC by +13%.
A&E Network is quacking loudly as its season three premiere of Duck Dynasty delivered an average of 8.6 million total viewers on Wednesday with back-to-back episodes starting at 10p in addition to 5.0 million with A18-49 and 5.0 million with A25-54. According to A&E, Duck Dynasty has become the #1 nonfiction series on cable in 2013 and the network’s #1 telecast ever. The season three premiere tallied increases of +132% in total viewers; +117% in A25-54; and +127% with A18-49 over the season two debut. Duck Dynasty is produced for A&E Networks by Gurney Productions.

Wednesday A18-49 Analysis: FOX topped the ranks Wednesday night delivering a 3.9/11 among A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, FOX’s American Idol hit the right note at 3.8/11 and CBS’ Survivor: Caramoan came next at 2.6/8. FOX’s American Idol remained at #1 through 9p with a 4.0/11 and ABC placed second with the average of its comedies Modern Family and Suburgatory at 3.1/9. NBC had a turn in the winner’s seat during 10p as Chicago Fire sizzled with a 2.0/6 and CBS followed with CSI at 1.9/5.

The NBC Owned Television Stations, a unit of NBCUniversal named Tony Chiulli as SVP/National Sales for the East Coast. Social Studios TV, creator of YourShow – a personalized TV show produced from individual’s social media feeds, has tagged Tom Grasty as its new Chief Content Officer. Grasty joins the company from Stroome.
AMC Networks elevated Sarah Barnett to President and General Manager of Sundance Channel, effective immediately. Barnett is based at the company’s headquarters in New York City and reports to AMC Networks’ COO, Ed Carroll.
