Sarah Palin is returning to FOX News. The former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate, who appeared on the network for three years before opting not to renew her contract in January, has decided to rejoin the news team as a paid contributor. Palin will begin on Monday, June 17 with an appearance on the morning show Fox & Friends. She will also contribute to Fox Business Network.

Brian McCann (Late Night with Conan O’Brien) has joined Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell as a producer and writer. “In 1995 my Chicago Bulls shocked the world by acquiring Dennis Rodman, best known for his incredible rebounding, his will to win, and unpredictability,” said Bell. “Totally Biased has just acquired Brian McCann, best known for his incredible run with Conan O’Brien, his will to get laughter at any cost, and his unpredictability. He is our Dennis Rodman. We are now ready to win.” The half-hour nightly series, produced by FX Productions, is slated to debut on FXX in September.

The Military Channel is going all out today  Flag Day – by turning the network over to the US Army as a salute to its 238th birthday and dedication to our country. The promotion includes the premiere of the special Rangers Lead the Way at 10p with IPMs and custom promos leading up to the broadcast, including birthday mentions. HGTV is bolstering its real estate programming line-up with a new series focused on how buyers can maximize their budgets and secure the best possible deal on a home. Premiering Tuesday, July 23 at 9 p, Power Broker follows real estate agent Mike Aubrey as he works to buyers land a new home they never thought they could afford.

INSP network is unveiling Old Henry, a new entry in its Moments series, starting Monday night in prime time, during Little House on the Prairie. These are short vignettes, a few minutes in length, that are designed to “let people know there a lot of positive moments to celebrate,” according to INSP’s SVP of Creative Services, On-Air Promotions and Short Form Programming, Jim Goss. “This is commercial time we could sell, but we’ve chosen to use this as a way to impact the world around us.” Financed by INSP, Old Henry stars The Waltons’ Ralph Waite and is the net’s first foray into scripted TV. Three episodes air Monday, and the remaining three air Tuesday. INSP is available in more than 75 million households across the U.S. via cable and DBS.

Jennifer Garner‘s production company Vandalia Films has signed an overall deal with Warner Bros. TV. Via the terms of the two-year agreement, Garner will develop and executive produce series projects for the studio.

~ RETURNING SERIES ~

HBO has renewed Vice. The show’s 12-episode second season is slated to premiere in 2014.

The hilarious tips on dating, drinking, dancing and then some will continue. MTV has ordered a second season of the comedy series Girl Code.

Country music entertainer and TV host Craig Morgan has announced the return of his hit show Craig Morgan: All Access Outdoors to Outdoor Channel. The fourth season will premiere on July 7 at 11p.

~ CASTING NEWS ~

Wes Bentley (The Hunger Games) has landed the starring role in Ryan Murphy’s HBO drama, Open. The show is described as a multi-character exploration of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships. Bentley will play the handsome but arrogant Evan Foster.

Josh Groban will guest star on next season’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The singing superstar will play himself on an episode titled The Gang Saves the Day, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show returns in September and moves from FX to FXX network.

Jason Alexander has been tapped for a guest spot on TV Land sitcom Kirstie, starring Kirstie Alley as Broadway star Maddie Banks. He’ll play Maddie’s agent.

Wednesday A18-49 Analysis:  NBC came out on top Wednesday night delivering a 2.5/9 among A18-49, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. At 8p, NBC’s NHL Stanley Cup Finals ranked #1 at 2.3/9, followed by FOX’s Master Chef at 2.0/7. NBC’s NHL Stanley Cup Finals and FOX’s Master Chef tied for the top spot at 9p at 2.5/8. Univision’s  Amores Verdaderos was second at 1.8/5. At 10p, NBC’s NHL Stanley Cup Finals took sole position of first at 2.6/8. CBS’ CSI followed at 1.4/4.
