AMC tapped Michael Rooker (Jumper) and Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints) as leads for its upcoming new series The Walking Dead, playing brothers Merle Dixon (Rooker) and Daryl Dixon (Reedus) where one is a redneck ex-con and the other just as dangerous. The Walking Dead, based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, is currently in production in Atlanta. The series will premiere this October during AMC Fearfest, the network’s annual marathon of thriller and horror films. Other new cast members include Andrew Rothenberg, Juan Pareja, Iron E.
