~ DISTRIBUTION, CLEARANCE & CARRIAGE ~

Outdoor Channel Holdings, Inc. said its Outdoor Channel is now available in the Phoenix market via Cox Communications’ Sports tier.

~ PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT ~

NBC’s Peacock Productions signed celebrity hair stylist Nick Arrojo for a new reality series in development. Arrojo previously appeared on TLC’s series What Not to Wear and has had his work featured in top fashion magazines and made guest appearances on NBC and ABC.

Courtney Thorne-Smith, last seen on ABC’s According to Jim for eight seasons, will next appear in a recurring role on CBS’ Two and a Half Men. Thorne-Smith will play Alan’s (Jon Cryer) new crazy girlfriend, Lindsay who is recently divorced and has a rotten 16-year old son.

Jay Harrington, star of ABC’s Better Off Ted, may shift networks as he has been chosen as the lead in NBC’s comedy pilot Nathan vs. Nurture. The comedy’s plot, produced by Sony TV is about an overly-ambitious heart surgeon (Harrington) who finds his birth father and his underachieving brothers 35 years after his adoption. This new role for Harrington is in second position after ABC’s Better Off Ted, though the sophomore series is not expected to be renewed by ABC.

The CW has two reality series in the works with one centering on celebrity fitness trainer, Tracy Anderson who was Madonna’s former personal trainer, cites THR. Anderson is partnering with Ryan Seacrest Productions on the docu-soap project which would follow Anderson in New York as she works with her A-list celebrity clientele such as Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Shakira. The CW’s second project titled Lost Weekend is a scavenger hunt from producers Justin Hochberg and Brett Ratner.

Spike TV ordered a single-camera pilot titled Back Nine, starring John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard) as Ronnie Barnes, a has-been former US Open champ who travels the US competing in small-time tournaments in hopes of qualifying for the PGA Tour, reports THR. Traveling with Ronnie is Tiger, his sex-addicted caddy and Miguel Nunez is in talks to take on this role. Jason Filardi and Mark Perez are writing the project as well as direct the pilot and executive produce with John Lynch. Spike TV originally okayed the Back Nine script a year ago with the sex-addicted character named Tiger as part of the plot early on.
