AMC commenced production yesterday in Vancouver on its next original series, The Killing from writer, executive producer and series showrunner Veena Sud (Cold Case). Produced by Fox Television Studios, The Killing is based on a popular Danish television series, Forbrydelsen about the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the following police investigation. Mikkel Bondesen serves as executive producer for Fuse Entertainment and Fuse’s Kristen Campo is co-producer. AMC ordered thirteen, one-hour episodes for season one due to premiere next March.

ABC is working on two new comedies:

  • One based on the eclectic stage show Mortified created by David Nadelberg about professional and amateur performers who look through their childhood diaries and journals to share the most embarrassing memories from their youth. The stage show has also inspired a website and a series of books. Mark Rizzo will serve as executive producer and writer. Jamie Tarses and Julia Franz are also executive producing via their FanFare Productions. Sony Pictures Television is producing.
  • The second project is a buddy sitcom from actor, now writer, Christopher Moynihan who will also executive produce along with Tagline’s Ron West and Kelly Kulchak. The plot is about a group of guys who are all in different stages in their romantic relationships. ABC Studios will produce.

Paula Marshall (Gary Unmarried, Californication) is joining FOX’s House as Cuddy’s sister, Lucinda, per TV Guide. Marshall is expected to make her first appearance on the series in January.

Casting Call: Logo TV and World of Wonder Productions are casting for the second season of RuPaul’s Drag U.
