Cynopsis: Kids!
12/10/10

Good morning. It’s Friday, December 10, 2010, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.

Scholastic unveils plans to re-launch author K.A. Applegate’s Animorphs book series with paperback editions of the original books beginning in May 2011.  Each of the new books will be published with a lenticular cover that shows characters morphing.  The Animorphs series debuted in June 1996 and grew to include 54 books, two spin-off series and ten companion books, which have sold a total of 35 million books worldwide.  Additionally, Scholastic Media produced an Animorphs TV series based on the books, which aired around the world including on Nickelodeon in the US.  No word on if there are plans to produce a new version of the TV series or release new toys or video games based on the series.

MORE KIDS STUFF

In the UK, BT Vision inks a deal with The Wiggles, to off their series via BT Vision Kids beginning this month.  Under the agreement, BTV Vision Kids channel will feature The Wiggles TV series on demand and six specials.  The Wiggles, which celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2011, will set out on a 15-city UK tour in the New Year.

Nick at Nite offers up a time change for the celebrity-filled premiere week of its original stop-motion animate series, Glenn Martin, DDS, which begins Monday, December 20, at 10:30p, and will be followed by new episodes at 10:30p each night.  However, the Glenn Martin, DDS one-hour special, Camp, will still premiere Friday, December 24 at 10p.

Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim will premiere the last installment of the Robot Chicken: Star Wars trilogy, Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III, on Sunday, December 19, 11:30p-12:30a.  Sure it isn’t specifically for kids, but so funny.
