IN THE NEWS |
The complete freshman season of HBO Max’s “The Pitt” will debut on corporate sib TNT starting Monday, December 1, at 9p – graphic scenes and all. Warner Bros. Discovery said that the decision not to edit “The Pitt” for linear TV was an acknowledgment of the show’s “core mission to accurately depict the realities of an emergency department.” Three back-to-back episodes will air weekly on Mondays through December 29, ahead of the hit medical drama’s season two premiere, January 6 on HBO Max. “All of us at ‘The Pitt’ are very excited that the TNT audience will have the opportunity to see our Emmy award-winning show beginning on December 1. We’re also very grateful to TNT for allowing the series to be shown as it was initially shot and aired on HBO Max,” said executive producer John Wells. As a cable network, TNT is not subject to the content standards the FCC demands of over-the-air broadcast networks.
Paramount reported 3Q25 revenue of $6.71 billion, versus the $6.99 billion expected by analysts. But the company projected total revenue to rise to $30 billion in 2026, boosted by “healthy acceleration” of streaming revenue and global profitability. Cost savings from the Skydance merger are now expected to hit $3 billion, versus a previous estimate of $2 billion. The company also said about 600 staffers in LA and NYC chose to take a severance package ahead of the January RTO mandate, and it expects another 1600 staff reductions after selling Telefe in Argentina and Chilevision in Chile.
President Donald Trump has threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion, citing “reputational and financial harm” unless the network retracts a 2024 documentary. The film is considered to be misleading due to edits of a Trump speech that make it appear he explicitly encouraged the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill attack. BBC chair Samir Shah has apologized for an “error in judgment,” while director general Tim Davie and news CEO Deborah Turness have resigned. Trump’s legal team has given the BBC until 5p this Friday to respond.
Amazon Ads has introduced a new feature that enables advertisers to target Prime Video viewers with interactive ads based on their location. Brands can buy video spots that show viewers a call-to-action on the screen, prompting them to either “sign up today” or “send to phone.” “By bringing local context to streaming campaigns, we’re making it easier for brands to reflect the communities they serve while democratizing access to premium streaming environments,” said Jenn Donohue, director of Local Ad Sales at Amazon Ads.
MSNBC – rebranded as MS NOW, effective November 15 – has inked a deal with AccuWeather to bring the forecasting company’s data and meteorologists to the network. In addition, David Parkinson, formerly with CBS News, has been enlisted as senior weather and elections data analyst.

The campaign features offers designed to win back customers in high-5G areas and provide an alternative for anyone considering FWA. “Consumers deserve internet that’s fast, reliable, and consistent, without the guesswork. Fixed Wireless and 5G Home Internet often fall short, especially when it comes to transparency of speed and performance, said Brett Tolbert, SVP, Consumer Pricing & GTM at Optimum. “That’s why Optimum is showing customers that they don’t have to settle.”
StackAdapt announced a new integration with iHeartMedia that brings iHeartMedia’s audio inventory (including broadcast radio, digital radio, streaming, and podcasts) directly to advertisers through the StackAdapt platform. “Audio has always been a trusted and powerful medium,” said Greg Joseph, VP of Inventory at StackAdapt. “By making broadcast radio available programmatically, we are transforming one of advertising’s most established channels for the digital era.”
Meta projected that 10% of 2024 revenue would come from ads for scams and banned goods, according to confidential documents reported by Reuters. On average, a December 2024 document notes, the company shows its platforms’ users an estimated 15 billion “higher risk” scam advertisements every day. Meta earns about $7 billion in annualized revenue from this category of scam ads each year, another late 2024 document states. In response to the report, Meta spokesman Andy Stone said the documents seen by Reuters “present a selective view that distorts Meta’s approach to fraud and scams.” |
