Jon Stewart will continue to host Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” every Monday and serve as executive producer for the series through December 2026. His current contract ends in December 2025. “Jon Stewart continues to elevate the genre he created. His return is an ongoing commitment to the incisive comedy and sharp commentary that define ‘The Daily Show,’” said Ari Pearce, Head of Comedy Central. “The renewal is a win for audiences, for Comedy Central and for all our programming partners.”
Sports-related programming made up over 64% of the auto industry’s total national TV ad spend in 3Q25, according to iSpot.tv. The NFL accounted for 40.5% of total spend, followed by the MLB (4.2%). Auto spend in September dipped 8.6% from the year-ago period, to $21.6 million.
Fubo’s North America streaming business delivered total third quarter revenue of $368.6 million, dipping 2.3% year-over-year, and beat Wall Street forecasts to hit 1.631 million paid subscribers, up 1.1%. In the Rest of World (ROW), Fubo delivered $8.6 million in total revenue, down 3.2% YoY, and 342,000 paid subscribers, down 9.5%. The results pertain to Fubo’s standalone operations prior to last week’s combination of Fubo and The Walt Disney Company’s Hulu + Live TV business. |

| MGM+ has greenlit “The Hillside Strangler,” a four-part true-crime docuseries that explores the murders that gripped Los Angeles in the late 1970s. From executive producers Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman for The Intellectual Property Corporation; Tim Walsh (“Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer”); and Peter LoGreco, who also directs and serves as showrunner, the docuseries will premiere on January 18.
FX has placed a series order for an untitled “Snowfall” spinoff from producer Malcolm Spellman and the producers of “Snowfall,” Dave Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Julie DeJoie, Michael London and Trevor Engelson. The series will be available on Hulu.
Fox is developing a reboot of “Bewitched.” Sony Television will co-produce the project with Fox Entertainment. The reimagining of the 1964-72 sitcom as a drama comes from writer/executive producer Judalina Neira (“Daisy Jones and the Six”) and EP Doug Robinson at Sony TV. |

| OpenAI inked a deal for $38 billion worth of capacity from Amazon Web Services and will immediately start accessing Nvidia’s graphics processing units. The initial phase of the deal will use existing AWS data centers, with Amazon eventually building out additional infrastructure for OpenAI. Global insights company GWI has announced a new integration with Anthropic’s AI assistant, Claude. Paramount landed the rights to Varsity Spirit’s Pro Cheer League. The league launches in January with four teams, each comprised of 30 cheerleaders selected through a competitive selection process that will be held this fall.

| Game 7 of the World Series delivered 26 million viewers for Fox, according to early Nielsen and Adobe Analytics data. That’s the largest audience for an MLB game since the 2017 World Series.
“Thursday Night Football” on Prime Video registered the franchise’s seventh year-over-year increase of the season, which is now averaging 14.95 million viewers, up +15% over last year’s pace. It’s also a +49% jump from where “TNF” stood at this point during Prime Video’s inaugural season three years ago.
The season three premiere of CBS’ “Tracker” drew 13.0 million Live+7 viewers, according to Nielsen, up 17% versus the year-go premiere. |
