Apple TV+ has rebranded as Apple TV, “with a vibrant new identity.” The news was revealed in a press release about the streaming plans for blockbuster “F1: The Movie,” which drops Friday, December 12. Apple’s paid streaming service launched in 2019.

The NBA is launching a reimagined NBA TV, along with a new multi-platform streaming hub designed to deliver basketball content year-round, starting tomorrow, October 15. “NBA TV and the NBA App are designed to be a connected, global hub for basketball coverage, delivering nonstop access to live games, original programming and exclusive behind-the-scenes content,” said Sara Zuckert, NBA App head and the league’s SVP. “The NBA App streaming platform will provide a seamless, always-on digital experience for fans to access 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”

The Giants’ 34-17 upset victory over the Eagles averaged 15.62 million viewers on Prime Video, a +19% increase over last year’s comparable game, despite a divided evening for Philadelphia sports fans with competition from a Phillies-Dodgers MLB playoff finale. The NFC clash was the fifth most-watched “TNF on Prime” game ever.

Disney+ docuseries “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era” will offer “an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.” Two episodes debut each week starting Friday, December 12.

NBC comedy “Stumble” kicks off Friday, November 7 at 8:30p. The mockumentary is set in the “ridiculously high stakes competitive world” of junior college cheer.

Season 18 of “Heartland” launches Thursday, January 8 at 8p on UPtv. The family drama is the longest running one-hour drama in Canadian television history.

The season four premiere of Netflix’s “Bridgerton” has been set for Thursday, January 29.

Animated series “Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake” kicks off Thursday, October 23 on HBO Max, followed by one new episode weekly through December 25.

   PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

M. Night Shyamalan (“The Sixth Sense”) and Brad Falchuk (“Glee”) are developing a live-action scripted series that’s a reimagining of Mattel’s Magic 8 Ball with Mattel Studios. Shyamalan will serve as director, co-creator and co-showrunner; Falchuk serves as writer, co-creator and co-showrunner.

Banijay Benelux is expanding its existing portfolio of production labels via a majority stake in Werktitel (Working Title). Launched in the Netherlands and focused on opportunities in the creator economy, the move is intended to diversify the local group’s content and partnerships.

UK’s Blink Films is in production on “Hitler’s DNA: Blueprint of a Dictator.” The series will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK later this autumn.

Monaco and Finland-based film and TV production company, Pig & Horse Productions, is partnering with Time Out to co-develop a slate of unscripted formats. The collaboration aims to combine social-first production with TV formats to create content reflecting global urban culture.

Crossing Oceans is teaming with Janeiro Studios and Brazilian streaming service Globoplay to produce “Paranoia,” described as “’Black Swan’ and ‘Whiplash’ mixed with the feel-good vibes and payoffs of ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ and the generation defining impact of ‘Euphoria.’”

   DISTRIBUTION

Crime drama “In The Heat Of The Night” is now streaming on 365BLK. The 1988-95 series airs six days a week with weekday runs from 5p-8p, Mondays from 8p-10p, and Saturdays from 8a-12noon through a licensing deal with Amazon MGM Studios Distribution.

Osmosis Global is representing film “Hunting Bundy: Chase for the Devil,” taking viewers back to the room with detectives tasked with bringing down Ted Bundy.

   TECH

CreativeX, the platform providing brands with a “credit score” for creative effectiveness, announced the launch of its Creator Content Benchmarking tool. The solution allows marketers to compare their ad spend on creator content against industry norms and branded content performance.

OpenAI and Broadcom announced a collaboration for 10 gigawatts of custom AI accelerators. OpenAI will design the accelerators and systems, which will be developed and deployed in partnership with Broadcom. “Partnering with Broadcom is a critical step in building the infrastructure needed to unlock AI’s potential and deliver real benefits for people and businesses,” said Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI. “Developing our own accelerators adds to the broader ecosystem of partners all building the capacity required to push the frontier of AI to provide benefits to all humanity.”

UP Entertainment will celebrate the annual National UPlift Someone Day on October 30, encouraging everyone to uplift at least one person and share or participate in positive activities, such as volunteering, donating, and random acts of kindness. National UPlift Someone Day was established last year with the National Day Archives to commemorate UP Entertainment’s 20th anniversary.
