A CYNOPSIS MESSAGE FROM WARNER BROS. DISCOVERY |
IN THE NEWS |
President Trump urged Google to strike a deal to get Univision, dark on YouTube TV since September 30, back on the air. On Saturday, Trump posted on Truth Social, “I hope Univision, a great and very popular Hispanic Network, can get BACK onto the very amazing Google/YouTube. It has been taken out of their package, which is VERY BAD for Republicans in the upcoming Midterms. They were so good to me with their highest rated ever political Special, and I set a Republican Record in Hispanic voting. Google, for the purpose of FAIRNESS, please let Univision back! President DJT.” TelevisaUnivision CEO Daniel Alegre responded to Trump’s plea by thanking the president, writing that Trump recognized “the impact of Univision and the importance of Hispanics.”
Netflix honored the late Jane Goodall with the release of the first episode of docuseries, “Famous Last Words.” The segment, taped earlier this year, includes the last interview with the iconic British primatologist and environmental advocate, who died October 1 at age 91. At the end of the interview, Goodall looks at the camera and speaks unedited with a message for humanity. “Jane Goodall was fearless in all things,” said Brad Falchuk, Executive Producer. “She deeply loved humanity and the natural world. It was clear to me in our conversation that she was approaching her final adventure with the same fearlessness, hope, humor and joy that she approached everything else in life.” The docuseries features late-in-life interviews with famous people, which are kept under wraps until the subject dies.
Live news stream CNN Max is being removed from HBO Max on November 17, as CNN prepares to launch its own streaming channel. “CNN has benefitted tremendously from its two years of offering a live 24/7 feed of news to HBO Max customers,” said Alex MacCallum, EVP of Digital Products and Services for CNN. “We learned from HBO Max’s large base of subscribers what people want and enjoy the most from CNN, and with the launch of our own new streaming subscription offering coming later this fall, we look forward to building off that and growing our audience with this unique, new offering.” |
Fox has officially canceled “The Great North” after five seasons. The animated series followed the adventures of a family in Alaska. “It’s difficult to say goodbye, but we’re thankful for the five hilarious seasons ‘The Great North’ brought to the iconic Animation Domination lineup,” said Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network. The cancellation didn’t come as a complete surprise – while “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “Bob’s Burgers” and “American Dad!” got four-year pick-ups in April, “The Great North” was left out in the cold. |
