   IN THE NEWS

Two days after introducing the industry’s first Large Marketing Model, WPP Media announced the expansion of Open Intelligence with a series of integrations and partnerships. New retail data partners include Boots Media Group, Criteo, DICK’s Sporting Goods, and Ocado Ads. “Retail media, via commerce and data intelligence, has quickly evolved to become central to consumer marketing strategy,” said the WPP Media announcement. “At the same time, premium media owners and supplyside platforms are reshaping content monetization through advancements in streaming, audio, digital, and TV environments. Together, these ecosystems represent the future of full-funnel marketing. Now, through Open Intelligence, they can be harmonized – with decentralized infrastructure, privacy-minded data collaboration, and AI-powered predictive models that deliver measurable outcomes.”

“Despite the sizable budget allocation going to CTV, advertisers often lack insight into where their ads are appearing and whether they’re being seen by target audiences,” notes Gracenote, the content data business unit of Nielsen, in a new report on contextual advertising. “Confidence that messages are reaching intended consumers within live sports through programmatic buys has room for improvement in particular.” An analysis of sports programming revealed that only 14% of CTV ad inventory included league information and 18% included team information. “CTV is a strong channel for advertisers today but opportunities exist to make it even better,” said Bill Michels, Chief Product Officer at Gracenote.
