Netflix’s boxing match between heavyweight champ Mike Tyson and social media personality Jake Paul, scheduled for July 20, has been postponed due to a medical condition. “Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flare-up, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” said Tyson. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.” The new date of the fight will be announced by June 7.
Havas and YouGov have expanded their data partnership from 18 to 26 markets across the globe. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees wrapped two weeks of scheduled negotiations over the Area Standards Agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers without reaching a deal, but the groups have agreed to meet again later this month. Discussions around the Hollywood Basic Agreement are scheduled for this week.
CNN plans to run ads during its June 27 presentation of the presidential debate, according to an advisory issued to a news pool organization and CNN affiliates. While other outlets may be able to sell advertising during the breaks, they are prohibited from filling the time with commentary from their own analysts. Usually, presidential debates held under the auspices of the Commission on Presidential Debates air commercial-free, but this time around the candidates chose not to abide by the CPD’s structure. ABC News is hosting a debate on September 10.
Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios has joined Pinterest as the founding media partner for the Hidden Healing Fund, aimed positively impacting the mental health of young people. In its inaugural year, the Hidden Healing Fund will pilot an initial collective investment of $1 million toward community organizations employing culturally-led approaches to address mental health challenges. Brands committed to improving mental health are invited to combine their resources to help bridge gaps in accessibility and foster innovative solutions beyond traditional models of care.
Season 14 of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” will not have the reunion that has capped every other season of the reality show, due to tension between cast members. “A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season finale that there is no path forward in that type of setting,” an insider told People. “So the network is figuring out a different concept to wrap up the season.” The only other time in the franchise’s history a reunion was canceled was after season 13 of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” and all of the Housewives were replaced.

A series telling the story of soccer star Christian Pulisic will begin filming this summer and premiere during the 2024-25 soccer season. “Pulisic,” part of Paramount+’s “Stories of the Beautiful Game collection,” is produced in partnership with CBS Sports and Pete Radovich.
Sony Pictures Television is shutting down TriStar Television (“Lucky Hank,” “The Afterparty”), and EVP Jennifer Turner and SVP Nicole Norwood are leaving the company. TriStar’s development slate will be absorbed by Sony Pictures Television Studios’ drama department.
Television projects on the development slate at Ivy Lion Productions, headed by Lamar Richardson and Zaire Julion-Richardson, include drama “Freeman Ranch,” following a family that runs Texas’ first Black-owned ranch; “The Queen of Magic,” based on the true story of magician Dell O’Dell; epic fantasy “Dead Hero”; and “Spotless,” centered on a household domestic who unwittingly takes a job cleaning up a murder scene for a bloodthirsty killer.
Charlie Hunnam (“Sons of Anarchy”) landed the lead role in Prime Video’s “Criminal,” based on the graphic novel series. Hunnam plays a master thief.
Nazanin Boniadi will not be reprising her “Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power” role for season two. “I made the choice not to return,” posted the actress on Instagram. “I look forward to sharing my latest projects with you soon.”

“Hard Knocks: Training Camp With the Chicago Bears” premieres Tuesday, August 6 at 9p on HBO. It’s the 19th edition of the sports reality series, and the first time the Bears training camp has been spotlighted. “We are honored to feature such an iconic NFL franchise on Hard Knocks,” said NFL Films senior director and supervising producer Shannon Furman. “The Chicago Bears have a talented roster, coaching staff, and front office all determined to match the expectations of a hungry fan base.”
The second half of season seven of “Outlander” premieres Friday, November 22 at 8p on Starz. The series is also in production on an eighth and final season, which will include new cast members Kieran Bew (“House of the Dragon”), Frances Tomelty (“Catastrophe”), and Carla Woodcock (“Such Brave Girls.”
Season two of Apple TV+’s “Pachinko” debuts Friday, August 23. Based on the bestseller of the same name, the drama is told in Korean, Japanese and English.
“Owning Manhattan,” a Netflix reality series following NYC real estate mogul Ryan Serhant and his agents, premieres Friday, June 28. The streamer also has another Manhattan-set property show, “Selling the City,” in the works.
On the animated front, Netflix has set Thursday, October 10 as the debut date for “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.” The series picks up after the events of the Tomb Raider video game trilogy.
BYUtv is streaming season four of “The Chosen” 24 hours after the “The Chosen” app, starting today at 7p, with linear broadcasts airing each succeeding Sunday at 9p.

What do you predict the next advancement will be in local TV?
As distribution channels continue to evolve, local broadcast news will continue to find ways to meet consumers where they are. We are watching this happening in the streaming landscape, as we’ve seen previously in mobile. And this could continue into other platforms leveraging the ATSC 3.0 technology or into new surfaces like autonomous vehicles.

FOX News Channel topped broadcast and cable as the New York jury in Donald Trump’s criminal trial found him guilty on all 34 felony counts in the 5p hour. According to data from Nielsen, FNC averaged over 4.7 million viewers and 665,000 in the 25-54 demo when the verdict was reported.
Spectrum News NY1 experienced a +167% increase in ratings vs. the previous month’s average during coverage of the Trump verdict, the largest increase of any broadcast or cable news network based on Nielsen household ratings.
NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” was the #1 entertainment series across broadcast and cable for the 2023-24 season in the 18-49 demo. Across all platforms, “SNL” averaged 7.2 million viewers this season, +3% from last season.
CBS’ May finales jumped with Live+7 Day viewing, currently occupying 16 of the top 25 shows with the highest seven-day lift. “Tracker” (+3.6 million), “Blue Bloods” (+2.75 million) and “Elsbeth” (+2.73 million) had the top three largest seven-day lifts of television’s spring finales, while the “Young Sheldon” series finale reached its largest Live+7 audience in four years.
Disney+’s “Bluey” topped Nielsen’s streaming chart with close to 1.2 billion minutes viewed from April 29-May 5. Close behind was ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” with 1.1 billion minutes viewed.
