OpenAI has suspended the use of a voice dubbed “Sky,” part of a GPT-4o release last week – and the butt of a joke on “Saturday Night Live” – over concerns that it sounds too much like actress Scarlett Johansson. “We believe that AI voices should not deliberately mimic a celebrity’s distinctive voice – Sky’s voice is not an imitation of Scarlett Johansson but belongs to a different professional actress using her own natural speaking voice,” said OpenAI in a blog most. So who is it? “To protect their privacy, we cannot share the names of our voice talents,” continued the post.

CBS News has created a Medical, Health and Wellness unit. “There is no doubt that medical and health news is important to our audience, and by centralizing our brain trust in this area, we can drive headlines and drive engagement even further across all platforms,” wrote Adrienne Roark, President of Content Development and Integration for CBS News and Stations, in a memo. Senior Coordinating Producer Sara Kuzmarov will lead the effort.

Dish Network and Hughes Network System, both part of EchoStar since Dish’s merger with the company in January, introduced a satellite service bundle aimed at the rural market, pairing Dish’s pay-TV service with Hughes’ broadband service. The discounted bundle comes with a two-year price lock.

ABC and the Country Music Association’s CMA Foundation are donating a total of $60,000 to music education programs. During the finale of “American Idol,” the top three finalists visited their hometowns, with a portion of each visit including the reveal of funding to three music education programs.

HBO handed a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for a half-hour college comedy starring and executive produced by Steve Carell. “Scrubs” alums Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso”) and Matt Tarses (“The Goldbergs”) will executive produce the series from Warner Bros. Television. “The combination of Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence promises to be full of great laughs, warmth, and charm,” said Amy Gravitt, EVP, HBO & Max Comedy Programming.We’re thrilled to be the home for this long overdue collaboration.”

Paramount Network hit “Yellowstone” has started production on the second half of its fifth season in Montana. The series from MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios is slated to return in November. Kevin Costner, who exited “Yellowstone” in part due to scheduling conflicts with his film “Horizon: An American Saga,” told GQ he offered to return for a death scene but “the scripts never came.” Paramount responded with the statement, “Kevin has been a big part of ‘Yellowstone’s’ success. While we had hoped that we would continue working with him, unfortunately, we could not find a window that worked for him, all the other talent, and our production needs in order to move forward together. We respect that Kevin has prioritized his new film series and we wish him the best.”

Paris Hilton’s 11:11 Media has partnered with HappyNest Entertainment and 9 Story Media Group for animated kids’ series “Paris & Pups.” The show is inspired by Hilton’s real-life pets.

The cast of MGM+ series “Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue” is in place. Joining previously announced Eric McCormack are David Ajala (“Star Trek: Discovery”), Lydia Wilson (“The Swarm”), Peter Gadiot (“Yellowjackets”), Siobhan McSweeney (“Derry Girls”), Olafur Darri Olafsson (“The Tourist”) Adam Long (“Happy Valley”) and Jan Le (“The Capture”). NEW & RETURNING SERIES

“Bel-Air” is back for season three on Thursday, August 15. The Peacock drama will premiere with three new episodes. What to expect? Apple TV+ comedy “Bad Monkey,” from executive producer Bill and starring Vince Vaughn, who also serves as an executive producer, will premiere Wednesday, August 14 with two episodes. The 10-parter is based on Carl Hiaasen’s bestselling novel.

Restoration expert Jonathan Knight takes on a lifelong dream renovation project in the new HGTV series “Farmhouse Fixer: Camp Revamp,” premiering Tuesday, June 18 at 9p. Knight, best known as a member of the band New Kids on the Block, buys an abandoned 12-acre campground situated on a rural lakefront, determined to transform it into a New England vacation destination.

Hulu inked a deal with ITV Studios to make the streamer the US home of Twofour’s queer dating series “I Kissed A …”. “I Kissed a Boy” is slated to premiere Saturday, June 15 as part the “Hulu Has Pride” celebration. Season two, “I Kissed a Girl,” arrives later this year.

Hulu’s unscripted series “Dress My Tour” drops July 23 with all 10 episodes. Hosted by Kate Upton, the series follows 11 aspiring fashion designers as they create looks for music stars like JoJo Siwa, Paula Abdul, Toni Braxton, Ty Dolla $ign and more.

“Am I OK,” a film starring Dakota Johnson that premiered at the 2022 Sundance film Festival, arrived on Max on Thursday, June 6.

FOX News Channel morning show “FOX & Friends” kicks off its 16th annual All-American Summer Concert Series on Friday, May 24 with Flo Rida. Presented by Lowe’s and taking place every Friday through August 30, the series will feature artists including The Beach Boys with John Stamos, Brandon Lake, Riley Green, and Tyler Hubbard, among others.

Documentary “Breakin’ on the One,” about the breaking battle between the Rocksteady Crew and the Dynamic Rockers in NYC that sparked a movement, debuts Monday, June 24 on Hulu. The film comes from Andscape, the Black content studio from Disney and ESPN.

ESPN Deportes announced “Las Amazonas de Yaxunah,” a doc that shines a light on the spirit and determination of a Mayan women’s softball team from the Yucatán region of Mexico. Narrated by Yalitza Aparicio, the first Indigenous Mexican Actress to be nominated for an Oscar, the film follows 26 passionate players, aged 13 to 62, as they overcame immense challenges to pursue their passion for softball.

Leave it to FETV: The network will celebrate Jerry Mathers’ 76th birthday with episodes of “Leave It to Beaver” on Monday, June 3 that were handpicked by Mathers, starting at 11a. And for Father’s Day, FETV is offering a “Bewitched” marathon, “My Two Darrins,” starting Sunday, June 16 at 9a.

Lifetime continues its summer Ripped from the Headlines slate with “Amish Affair,” following the story of an Amish woman who sets out to prove her innocence after she’s framed for murder, premiering Saturday, July 6 at 8p, and “Sister Wife Murder,” about a young woman who falls for a charismatic pastor with a dark side, on Saturday, July 13 at 8p.

DLT Entertainment is launching FAST channel 80’s Sitcom Flashback, offering primetime sitcoms from the eighties, this month. The channel, which debuts on Plex, will roll out across other streaming platforms and include classics like “Three’s Company” and “Too Close for Comfort,” along with “hidden gem” like Don Adams in “Check It Out!”.

Cineverse will offer “The Joy of Painting” for the first time in high definition and 4K. The company also created new original content with the Bob Ross Gallery Collection,. “It’s like Bob is in the room with me,” said Joan Kowalski, President of Bob Ross Inc., upon seeing the series in HD for the first time. “Bob was a huge dreamer, but I don’t believe even he would have dreamt the show could look this vibrant and fresh!”

Insight TV inked a deal to bring its millennial-focused content to The Roku Channel viewers across the US Canada, Mexico, and the UK.

Privacy-enhancing technology company Symitri has acquired TRUSTX from Digital Content Next and integrated with Akamai’s network to create a seamless approach to buyer-defined deterministic campaign targeting, measurement and attribution, without exposing any personal data in the bidstream. “Publishers told us they were deeply concerned that next-generation shared identity solutions perpetuate many of the same data leakage and inventory commoditization challenges that cookies created,” said David Kohl, Co-Founder and CEO of Symitri. “And while traditional cleanrooms do the job for some of our largest publishers and their top-tier brand-side clients, thousands of smaller publishers told us they have yet to find a viable, cost-effective option.”

Spectrum Mobile has started a phone balance buyout program. CSI Sports is expanding of the distribution of its syndicated network in the US.
