The production, based on the Alice Hoffman novel about four women’s fight for survival at the siege of Masada, planned for 2015, is the first project from CBS Entertainment and CBS TV Studios’ new Limited Series and Event programming unit.
Sarah Palin gets another shot at television in Sportsman Channel‘s weekly series Amazing America with Sarah Palin. Why Palin? “Governor Palin is a transformative figure and terrific storyteller,” Sportsman Channel CEO Gavin Harvey tells Cynopsis. “We are proud she is calling Sportsman Channel home.” The former vice presidential candidate is no TV show novice – Sarah Palin’s Alaska ran for a season on TLC, and she had a stint as a contributor on Fox News. Her weekly Sportsman series premieres in April 2014.
How much will worldwide ad spending will go up in 2014? Depends on which media agency you ask. GroupM forecast a 4.6 percent increase compared to 2013, down from an earlier prediction of 5.1 percent. At a media conference on Monday, Time Warner Cable COO Rob Marcus said a Bloomberg interview suggesting he would consider selling the company was misleading, and that his management team “is completely focused on running Time Warner Cable for the long haul.” Not that a sale is entirely out of the question. “My job as CEO,” said Marcus, who takes on that role January 1, 2014, from Glenn Britt, “is to maximize value for shareholders.”
