FremantleMedia inked a new exclusive overall deal with novelist and screenwriter Neil Cross (Luther). Series created through the deal will be distributed globally by FremantleMedia International.
HBO Films is developing Think Aaron, based on the story of late hacktivist Aaron Swartz, reports Deadline. Project comes from Tribeca Productions, Eric Roth and Debra Greenfield, writer Andy Bellin and Elliott Lester.

Added to the cast as recurring series regulars are Lois Smith (Lady Bird), Glenn Stanton (Simi Valley), David Sullivan (Sharp Objects), Duke Davis Roberts (Justified), Alex Hernandez (UnREAL)) and Jeremy Bobb (The Knick). Series returns in 2018.
USA renewed Shooter for season 3. Season 2 was cut to 8 episodes from 10 when star Ryan Phillippe broke his leg; the finale aired September 5. Season 3 will be loosely based on the second book in Stephen Hunter’s Bob Lee Swagger series.
OUTtv and Boulet Brothers Productions greenlit of season 3 of The Boulet Brothers DRAGULA. Since launching on OUTtv on October 31, season 2 has posted a 57% increase on its timeslot compared to a year ago and has been the most-streamed content on OUTtvGo. COMING UP
Something old, something new: The 90th Oscars ceremony will begin at 8p, a half-hour earlier than previous telecasts, on Sunday, March 4 on ABC. Pre-show starts at 6:30p.
Kirsten Bell will host the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, January 21. It will be the first time the ceremony has had an emcee. “This has been a year in which assumptions have been challenged, stereotypes have been shattered, and precedents have been broken,” said exec producer Kathy Connell. “We decided to capture the cultural mood by casting aside one of our own traditions.” As for Bell, she’s “a little nervous,” admitted the Good Place star. Awards show will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS at 8p.
The Nanny is coming to Cozi TV next year, starting with a 9a-8p marathon of the Fran Drescher sitcom on January 1. The show’s regular weekday slots will be 10a, 7p and 12a (check local listings).
The 40th Annual Kennedy Centers Honors will air on CBS Tuesday, December 26 at 9p, celebrating the achievements of Gloria Estefan, Norman Lear, LL Cool J, Carmen de Lavallade and Lionel Richie. The ceremony took place Sunday, December 3. President Trump was a no-show; the White House announced in August it was canceling the traditional reception and Trump would pass on the awards after Lear and Lavallade said they planned to boycott the presidential meeting. “I’m thankful he chose not to come,” said Estefan on the red carpet. “All it does is overshadow the accomplishments of people who spent a lifetime trying to do something.” Richie was just excited about the company he found himself in, saying, “I’m graduating in a class with Norman Lear, excuse me!”
