The NFL continues to score in ratings. CBS reported this weekend was the most-watched December Singleheader in three years with an average of 16.774 million viewers. STD viewership also clocked in as the best in three years, averaging 17.685 million viewers, while FOX Sports drew more than 23 million for the Americas Game of the Week between the Rams and Cowboys, making it the most watched telecast of the week. Americas Game of the Week continues to hold the spot as the most-watched show in all of television, while NFL on FOX is on pace for its best viewership year since 2016, up 7% from last year. FOX Sports also said the 2019 Thursday Night Football season delivered an average audience of 15.4 million viewers, including FOX, NFL Network, FOX Deportes, NFL digital, FOX Sports digital, Amazon Prime Video, Twitch and Yahoo Sports—up 4% vs. the 2018 Thursday Night Football season average. Digital streaming across Amazon Prime Video, Twitch, NFL digital, FOX Sports digital and Yahoo Sports platforms this season produced an average minute audience of 1.1 million up 44% vs. last year.

“Road To The NHL Winter Classic,” will chronicle the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators as they prepare to meet outdoors in the 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1 at Cotton Bowl® Stadium in Dallas, will premiere on Saturday, Dec. 21. The three-week, limited series will air on NBCSN and NHL Network in the U.S. and on SN1 in Canada starting on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m. ET on SN1 in Canada.

Pennsylvania’s sportsbooks celebrated the legalized sports gambling industry’s first birthday in November by setting a new monthly handle record and surpassing $1 billion in lifetime wagers. The industry continues to gain steam as its online product matures, a process boosted by the recent online launch of DraftKings and Unibet, according to PlayPennsylvania.com analysts. Pennsylvania’s sportsbooks accepted $316.5 million in wagers in November, up 31.2% from October’s $241.2 million, according to official data released Tuesday. Those bets generated $20.6 million in revenue—up from October’s $19.1 million win—and yielded $3.9 million in state taxes.

Electronic Arts Inc and Respawn Entertainment announced the Apex Legends Global Series. The series is comprised of online and live events for PC players who will compete for a prize purse of more than $3 million.
