The NBA is pumping up the holiday spirit with a new NBA Xmas video titled “The NBA Lights Up Christmas Day” that offers a lightshow of the marquee players and games scheduled for Christmas Day. The promotion debuts on Friday during ESPN’s doubleheader between the 76ers/Pacers and the Nuggets/Thunder and showcases players from the five different matchups as holiday light displays, including Tim Hardaway Jr. (New York Knicks) vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks),Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers) vs. Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz), James Harden(Houston Rockets) vs. Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder), Ben Simmons(Philadelphia 76ers) vs. Kyrie Irving (Boston Celtics), and Kevin Durant (Golden State Warriors) vs. LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers), and is set to a modern rendition of “Deck the Halls,” each beat synchronized to the players’ movements.

Codere and the NBA announced a new multiyear partnership that will make Codere, a leading Spanish multinational company in the private gaming sector, the first official gaming partner of the NBA in Mexico. The partnership will be promoted in retail locations across Mexico, on Codere’s assets and the NBA’s online platforms, including NBA.com, the NBA App and NBA Mexico social media platforms. Codere will use official NBA betting data and branding across its land-based and digital sports betting offerings throughout Mexico. Throughout the partnership, Codere and the NBA will also collaborate on best-in-class practices to protect the integrity of NBA games.
International media and entertainment company Outdoor Sportsman Group partnered with digital media technology company ViewLift for the global relaunch of OSG’s video on-demand streaming service MyOutdoorTV on Web, Mobile, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Xbox applications. “ViewLift helps Outdoor Sportsman Group distribute our exclusive, streaming service to a broader audience,” MyOutdoorTV Senior Vice President and General Manager, Sean Luxton said. “We are extremely pleased with our partnership and look forward to many successes.”

The NFL’s Workplace Diversity Committee presented modifications to strengthen and enhance the effectiveness of the NFL’s Rooney Rule to increase diversity and inclusion. Changes now include: clubs must interview at least one diverse candidate from the Career Development Advisory Panel list or a diverse candidate not currently employed by the club; clubs must continue best practice recommendation of considering multiple diverse candidates; clubs must maintain complete records and furnish to the league upon Commissioner’s request; and if final decision-maker is involved in the beginning, he/she must be involved through the conclusion of the process.
The Undefeated, ESPN’s content initiative for sports, race and culture, reached a multi-year contract extension with senior NFL writer Jason Reid to continue as the platform’s lead journalist covering the National Football League.
