A familiar face is returning to host The Golden Globes. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Ricky Gervais will emcee the award ceremony’s 2016 telecast. Gervais hosted the Globes for three consecutive years from 2010 to 2012, drawing both praise and criticism for his edgy attitude. “We’re excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way,” said NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt. “Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor – and send up – the best work of the year in film and television.” The ceremony airs live Sunday, January 10 at 8p.
NBC‘s Saturday Night Live is gearing up for some major star power. Matthew McConaughey returns to Studio 8H on November 21 to host the series for the first time in over a decade. He’ll be joined by Grammy winner Adele, who’ll appear as musical guest.
Twitter and CBS News have partnered for the broadcast of the Democratic presidential debate on Saturday, November 14 at 9p. Twitter will provide CBS News with insights, live reaction and questions from voters, some of which may be incorporated into the debate. “Our people have worked with Twitter’s unique curator tools to measure changing responses to what viewers will see on the screen. Twitter integration will inform our coverage and integrate seamlessly with CBSN, our always-on digital network,” said CBS News President David Rhodes.
NATPE’s 13th annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award will honor Steve Harvey, Doug Herzog, Quincy Jones, Sophie Turner Laing and Norman Lear. The special reception will be held on January 20 at the 2016 NATPE Market and Conference in Miami Beach.
For the seventh consecutive year the Screen Actors Guild Awards has been honored with the Environmental Media Association’s Green Seal. The accolade, presented at the 25th Annual EMA Awards on Saturday, October 23, was created to promote responsible production methods.

NBC is developing The Russians Are Coming from Universal Television and Mila Kunis‘ Orchard Farm Productions. The semi-autobiographical comedy from Sam Wolfson (Finding Carter) focuses on a husband whose Russian in-laws move in upstairs.
FOX has greenlit American Country Countdown’s Top 10 Stories of 2015, a companion piece to spring’s American Country Countdown Awards. The one-hour special airs Thursday, December 17 at 8p and features appearances by Jason Aldean, Kix Brooks, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Little Big Town, Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood.
Stewarts and Hamiltons, the docuseries that followed the large blended family of George Hamilton and Alana Stewart, has been canceled. The E! show aired a mere eight episodes.
FX axed Married after two seasons. Creator Andrew Gurland announced the news on Twitter on Monday, thanking the network and fans.
Reelz is packing November with Kennedy-themed programming. The Kennedy Files, a 10-week documentary series premieres Tuesday, November 10 at 9p. Killing JFK: 50 Questions Answered airs Saturday, November 7 at 12p, followed by documentary JFK: The Smoking Gun at 1p and the premiere of Jackie: Behind Closed Doors at 9p. Eight-part miniseries The Kennedys returns Monday, November 16 at 9a. Things wrap on Tuesday, November 17 with Hollywood Scandals “The Kennedys” at 8p and Celebrity Legacies – “John F. Kennedy Jr.” at 11p.
Peabody Award-winning PBS series Craft in America marks the holiday season with an hour titled “Celebration,” premiering nationwide on Friday, December 11 at 10p. The episode examines the role craft plays in holiday customs, focusing on winter observances and traditions.
Start your Halloween Party with The Munsters Marathon on Cozi TV, beginning 12p on Saturday, October 31, and the first television rock opera, “Auto-Tune The Munsters.” The episode “A Man for Marilyn” has been reconstructed around originally composed songs using dialogue from the show to create a first-of-its kind for TV, following in the tradition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The already-released songs What’s Wrong With Me? and Grandpa Makes A Prince are highlights, at 8p and 11p.
El Rey Network celebrates Halloween with The Puppet Master Marathon, airing Saturday, October 31 at 12a through Sunday, November 1 at 6a. Hosted by producer/writer Charles Band, the stunt features the first five films from the series. Bonus: a contest offering one lucky winner the chance to die in the next Puppet Master film.

Five single black women from New York City navigate the dating world on FYI‘s #BlackLove, debuting Tuesday, December 8 at 10:15p. In the mix: Monet Bell, who ended up divorcing Vaughn Copeland after appearing on season one of Married at First Sight.
El Rey Network renewed From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series for a third season. The show’s sophomore finale, guest- starring Demi Lovato, airs Tuesday, October 27 at 9p.
ABC Family picked up a second season of Monica the Medium. The reality series’ season one finale tonight 8p.
Christopher Eccleston landed a starring role in BBC One drama The A Word, about a family learning to deal with autism. Series is slated to bow in late spring.
Johnny Ray Gill (Rectify) booked a series regular role in CBS series BrainDead. The show debuts in summer 2016.
Kelli Goss (Big Time Rush) snagged a recurring role in Netflix comedy The Ranch. The series will be released in 2016.
International content distributor DRG acquired worldwide rights to My Son The Jihadi. Documentary tells the story of Thomas, eldest son of an ordinary British family, who left home for Somalia in 2011 to join terrorist group Al Shabaab, an Al Qaeda affiliate.

With a Live+7 ratings lift, CBS moved into a tie with NBC in A18-49 while maintaining first place finishes in viewers and A25-54 during the third week of the season, according to Nielsen data for the week of October 5 to 11. Among A18-49, CBS added .6 rating points (2.7 from 2.1, up 29 percent), tying NBC after trailing in Live+SD ratings (2.1 versus 2.2). The Big Bang Theory added 5.47 million viewers (to 20.87 million, up 36 percent) and NCIS added 3.87 million (to 20.74 million, up 23 percent) as both series passed Sunday Night Football (19.65 million) as the week’s top two broadcasts.

Tori Cook, previously Vice President, Retail Business Development at Sanrio, Inc., has been named Senior Vice President of Global Retail Business Development. Marcy George, former founder and CEO of David & Goliath Licensing, has been hired as Vice President of Global Consumer Products. Scott Rosenbaum, who last oversaw Mattel, Inc.’s business and legal affairs, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs.
