STREAMING NOTES
Why isn’t FX accepting advertising from Netflix? Speaking at USC on Saturday, FX chairman John Landgraf noted, “FX has had the most reach of any cable network in the last five years. I would prefer not to share a scarce resource in an environment where we’re fighting for our lives.” Landgraf also pointed out that FX made 13 shows over the last year, all of which landed on ten-best lists, a record not matched by Netflix or HBO. “It’s very hard to compete when you only have 13 at bats,” he said. “It’s pretty stressful. You need to take risks.”
