The International Paralympic Committee and Bridgestone Corporation announced that the world’s largest tire and rubber manufacturer has become the organization’s seventh Worldwide Paralympic Partner. Already a Worldwide Olympic Partner through to 2024, Bridgestone now has global rights to promote and support the Paralympic Movement over the same period., Bridgestone will receive global IPC rights in categories that include tires, tire services and selected automotive vehicle services, self-propelled bicycles, seismic isolation bearings, and a variety of building and industrial products. Bridgestone also is a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Gold Partner and a partner of the Japan, Thailand and USA Paralympic teams.
After adding Joel Embiid to the Under Armour family a week ago, the company has now added two more athletes to the roster, inking Mo Bamba and Hamidou Diallo to new deals. “Under Armour appreciates how culturally important basketball is in Harlem,” said Bamba, who plays Center for the Orlando Magic. “They feel that Harlem pride and responsibility that I carry, and are ready to support my long-term vision of giving back to the community that raised me.”

The German Football Association forged a partnership with Fanatics. Beginning in January, the long-term deal will allow fans of the national team to have access to a greater range of products and wider availability. Fanatics will offer a shopping experience across both online and offline channels through the creation of a new global e-commerce platform, DFB Fanshop (fanshop.dfb.de) while also operating DFB retail outlets during home games.
The Southern Conference announced that Ingles will serve as the title sponsor of the league’s men’s and women’s basketball championships in Asheville through 2021. The tournaments will be officially known as the Ingles Southern Conference Basketball Championships presented by General Shale. Ingles’ logo will be incorporated into the existing tournament logo and will have increased visibility throughout ExploreAsheville.com Arena at the U.S. Cellular Center, home of the SoCon basketball championships.

As NBA Tip-Off Week continues, Twitter is launching the #NBATwitter Hall of Fame to recognize the “personalities who embody the spirit and tone of the unique community,” announcing that Joel Embiid would be the inaugural inductee into the #NBATwitter Hall of Fame. A new inductee will receive a trophy each year etched with their best Tweets, a custom hashtag-triggered emoji for the entire season and will be featured in Twitter content as part of their #NBATwitter HOF enshrinement.
ESPN reached a multi-year extension with senior national NBA writer Baxter Holmes. The journalist will continue to write NBA feature stories for ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine and will closely document LeBron James’ tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, and all of the top teams, players and storylines from around the league. Additionally, his ESPN.com NBA “Schedule Alert” project, which examines what games NBA teams are at risk of losing due to fatigue, returns Oct. 30.
The NBA is looking to teach the rules of the game easier with the enhancement of its NBA.com/Official website. The modernized website features a new digital rulebook, an enhanced video rulebook and a new user-friendly search function, along with other significant additions. The homepage also lists the daily referee assignments, including a new feature that details the responsibilities of the three officials (crew chief, referee and umpire) for each game.
ESL is renewing vows with Mercedes-Benz, adding another two years to their fruitful partnership. The new deal makes the auto brand ESL’s global mobility partner and supports a variety of National and Global ESL tournaments through Dec. 31st, 2020. The deal also includes the continuation of the Most Valuable Player award which has been presented to the tournament’s best player at past ESL One Dota 2 tournaments. DreamHack is heading to Dallas, announcing plans to bring the festival to the Texas metropolis in 2019 complete with its slate of activations and tournament play. Running from May 31-June 2, 2019, the event will serve up both the DreamHack festival experience and the next CORSAIR DreamHack Masters stop. USA Swimming’s Chief Marketing Officer Matt Farrell is reporting departing the organization to join Golf Channel, where he will serve as an executive director for the Golf Channel’s World Long Drive Association as well as a GM for the network.
