“Bunk’d” landed a season seven order, making it Disney Channel’s longest-running live-action series. Erin Dunlap will remain as executive producer and showrunner of the series, while series regular Miranda May will continue her season six appointed role as executive producer while also directing select episodes.
Episode nine of the current eighth season of NBC’s “Chicago Med” will be the last for star Brian Tee, who decided to leave at the end of his six-year contract. “What we’ve been planning for Dr. Choy’s sendoff is fitting, and it’s beautiful,” said Tee, who will return later in the season to make his directorial debut. “I think the fans are going to absolutely love it.”
Discovery+ has ordered a docuseries exploring behind-the-scenes stories behind Fox’s tragedy-plagued 2009-15 series “Glee.” The three-parter from Ample Entertainment will address controversies and share never-before-heard stories from series insiders.
Acorn TV and ZDF announced a second season order from Expectation and start of production for UK mystery drama series “The Chelsea Detective,” returning in 2023.
Fireworks Media Group is collaborating with Tori Wesszer and her food and lifestyle brand Fraiche Living to adapt its content into a slate of unscripted series. Through the partnership will come a kitchen-centric TV series featuring Wesszer and her husband, “Love It or List It” home renovator Charles Wesszer, as they transform people’s homes from the kitchen out.
Lionsgate+ has greenlit a second season of “Señorita 89,” with production set to start on Monday, October 17 in Mexico City. The first season of the drama became the top performing series ever on the service in Mexico, with viewership increasing more than 243% from the premiere episode to the finale.
Zooey Deschanel has joined season three of Apple TV+’s “Physical,” as a sitcom star who decides to join the fitness industry.
NEW & RETURNING SERIES
New Latin American Original docuseries, “The Montaners,” will premiere November 9 on Disney+ with the first five episodes. “The Montaners” follows the family one of the greatest icons of Latin music. Family members work to balance their private lives and professional careers while in the public eye.
Season three of Crackle’s “Going From Broke” premieres November 10.Look for brand integrations from companies that include LifeLock by Norton, Old Navy, DoorDash, Payitoff and Family Dollar.
ID’s “Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?” premieres Saturday, October 15 at 10p. The series returns following ID’s recently released podcast based on the original series, which is back with 10 new episodes featuring stories of happily ever after gone terribly wrong.
La Mujer del Diablo is back for season two October 18 on ViX+. What to expect? “A net of intrigue and secrecy will be woven around Cristo and Natalia that will force them to face their own love,” teases the streamer.
History’s Pawn Stars hit the road for “Pawn Stars Do America,” launching Wednesday, November 9 at 8p. It’s the first-time the Vegas-based appraisers have left town to assess the value of finds.

Netflix has signed up to UK TV ratings agency BARB (Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board). It’s the first industry-owned ratings service in the world that Netflix has joined, and the first time the streamer’s audiences will be measured by an external, independent body. BARB, which also reports Disney+ data, will begin reporting Netflix’s UK viewing figures starting in November.
Technology provider OTTera announced an investment deal in streaming service AfroLandTV. The investment will allow AfroLandTV to create additional new original IPs, while adapting OTTera’s technology to significantly grow the network’s IP distribution, licensing and monetization.
Beta Film and streaming service Topic have finalized a deal for Topic to acquire the exclusive US and Canada rights to four European crime-themed series including the third season of “Pagan Peak (Austria/Germany).” The other series in the deal include “Helsinki Syndrome” (Finland), “Silent Road” (Greece), and “The Silence” (Croatian/Ukrainian).
OOH network Barvanna inked multi-year agreement with DIRECTV for Business, expanding the sports and entertainment network’s reach to more than 300,000 businesses across the United States. Barvanna specializes in short-form sports and entertainment content designed specifically for out-of-home consumption.

FreeWheel announced the launch of a new, enhanced unified yield set of capabilities for publishers, which includes the ability to give non-guaranteed, programmatic demand the opportunity to compete with “healthy,” direct sold guaranteed deals. “We developed this newly enhanced unified yield capability to address several current industry needs,” Katy Loria, CRO, FreeWheel, tells Cynopsis. “First, as programmatic advertising continues to grow, publishers need fluidity across their sales channels and to be able to boost programmatic demand over guaranteed, while honoring those guarantees. At the same time, we sought to simplify and reduce many of the inefficiencies in the overall TV ad buying process by unlocking new and previously inaccessible sources of premium video ad inventory for programmatic activation.” A+E Networks has adopted FreeWheel’s unified yield solution and seen positive results, including a +35% increase in cost per thousand across replaced impressions, while all guaranteed deals still delivered in full during this period.
Innovid and Fox Corporation are teaming to measure cross-platform viewing consumption across Fox’s portfolio of news, sports, entertainment, and streaming properties. Fox plans to use InnovidXP, Innovid’s cross-platform TV measurement solution, to further accelerate its efforts to unify and facilitate new ways of measuring ad delivery, impact, and performance across its portfolio. “As more viewers engage with content across multiple screens, it remains vital that we continue to work with our ad partners and provide them with the necessary data and insights that further display the value of converged TV and the engaged audiences and concentrated impact FOX delivers,” said Dan Callahan, SVP, Data Strategy & Sales Innovation, Fox. “Our partnership with Innovid is another step forward in expanding and delivering cross-platform measurement solutions that further align with our advertisers’ objectives.” The deal is an expansion of the partnership that Innovid and Tubi, FOX’s streaming service, launched last year.

Discovery+ is looking to serve Food Network and HGTV fans with four new holiday films mixing culinary and home improvement storylines with romance, and sprinkled with network personalities. Starting Friday, November 12 come “A Christmas Open House,” “Designing Christmas,” “A Gingerbread Christmas” and “One Delicious Christmas.”
Comedy special “Neal Brennan: Blocks” drops on Netflix November 8. In the stand-up special, Brennan moves blocks around the stage to explain issues that make him feel like something is wrong with him.
Nominees for the “2022 American Music Awards” will be announced today, October 13 on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” at the top of the 8a hour. The fan-voted awards show airs Sunday, November 20 at 8p on ABC.

MLB struck a deal with Charlotte’s Web Holdings for a “first of its kind” exclusive multi-year strategic partnership that opens increased CBD visibility to their professional athletes, fans and communities. Major League Baseball now becomes the first major professional sports league to form a sponsorship agreement with a CBD company, with Charlotte’s Web the first “Official CBD of Major League Baseball.” In June 2022, MLB officially opened the category for the league and its Clubs allowing sponsorships with CBD companies that are NSF Certified for Sport®.
Henkel Canada and the NHL announced a multiyear Canadian partnership, naming Henkel Canada’s Purex brand the Official Laundry Detergent of the NHL. The new agreement provides Henkel Canada with an array of exclusive marketing rights and designations that will connect the Purex brand with the NHL and its fans through the NHL’s marketing and digital channels. The partnership begins immediately, and fans will see the Purex brand displayed in camera visible virtual slot in-ice ads during NHL regular season games broadcast on Rogers Sportsnet in Canada.
For the first-time ever this year, baseball fans attending any MLB postseason game taking place from the Divisional Series through the World Series will be able to receive a free 2022 MLB Postseason Commemorative Ticket. The visual, free digital collectible NFTs will feature matchup details, the game’s location & time, and will be dynamically updated to showcase photos from the game within the 24 hours following each game, according to Candy Digital.
FIFA unveiled a panel of local artists from across the world as part of its “Spotlight: Your Dreams” campaign. FIFA will collaborate with these eight artists to “shine a light on emerging talent, untold stories and unsung heroes, in and out of football, one community at a time.” FIFA, alongside these local creators and social media sensation Noah Beck, will call on the public to draw, paint or artistically express their dreams ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
ESPN and Atlantic Records are teaming up to soundtrack the 2022-23 NBA season. The season-long campaign will include NBA on ESPN exclusive remixes and bespoke songs from some of Atlantic’s biggest stars. Kicking off the campaign is a remix of “My Friends,” the new single from Ty Dolla $ign and Mustard. The original version of the song features Chicago rapper Lil Durk and will appear on Ty Dolla $ign and Mustard’s forthcoming joint album.
