10/03/19: The NBA is partnering with its newest betting partner William Hill


The NBA and William Hill, one of America’s leading sports book operators, inked a new partnership designating William Hill as a Proud Partner and an Authorized Sports Betting Operator of the NBA in the United States. As part of the deal, William Hill will now have the right to use official NBA betting data and league marks across its mobile platforms and in its sports books throughout the United States. Additionally, William Hill will be promoted across the NBA’s digital assets including NBA.com, the NBA app, and the NBA’s social media platforms.
“William Hill is a globally respected brand that has set an early standard for sports betting in the U.S. market,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Fantasy & Gaming, NBA.  “We are delighted to partner with William Hill as they grow their business throughout the U.S. and are excited to work together to provide a world-class experience to our fans.”

NBC Sports and U.S. Figure Skating unveiled the broadcast schedule for the 2019-20 figure skating season, serving up 80+ hours of coverage between October and April. Beginning with Skate America, NBC Sports will offer over 30 hours of figure skating coverage on NBC, with 50+ hours airing on NBCSN. In addition, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present original programming plus encores of NBC and NBCSN figure skating coverage of several events. Coverage will showcase the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series (including Skate America), ISU World Championships, ISU Four Continents Championships and the ISU European Championships. Every skate is available live and commercial free with the Figure Skating Pass on NBC Sports Gold.
Golf’s European Tour unveiled its schedule for the 2020 season, with play beginning next month at the Hong Kong Open and Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa both concluding on Dec. 1. The first tournament of the new year will be the South African Open Jan. 9-12. Meanwhile, the April 30-May 3 Andalucia Masters will be the first event actually played in Europe.
NASCAR and ARCA released a new championship format for 2020 that will see the continuation of three historic regional championship series as well as the coronation of a new fourth champion under the ARCA Menards Series banner. The four championships will be: ARCA Menards Series East and ARCA Menards Series West; ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Racing Series Showdown. “We cannot be more excited about 2020,” said Brandon Thompson, Managing Director, NASCAR Touring Series. “Both NASCAR and ARCA have worked extremely hard over the last year to provide a rules package and schedule that will serve as the foundation for the preeminent series for racing at this level. It was important for us to move the series forward while creating an environment inclusive for both the current long-term owners and drivers in the series as well as aspiring competitors.”
Turner Sports entered a multi-year agreement with Stan Van Gundy, with the veteran NBA head coach serving as a game analyst for NBA on TNT Tuesday night coverage, along with being an NBA TV studio analyst throughout the season.  Van Gundy will be one of several commentators in new or expanded roles, with play-by-play broadcasters Ian Eagle and Brian Anderson and analyst Jim Jackson also contributing to TNT’s Tuesday night NBA coverage. TNT will tip off its first of nine newly-formatted Tuesday night doubleheaders on January 28, featuring the Warriors visiting the 76ers at 7:30p.
UNANIMO Deportes reached a deal with Major League Baseball for the newly launched radio network to become the Spanish-language home of 2019 MLB Postseason on terrestrial radio in the US. UNANIMO Deportes will provide extensive coverage of all Postseason games including both Wild Card games, Division Series, LCS and culminating with the World Series. The network brings a roster of respected and accomplished journalists to its MLB Postseason coverage including Renato Bermudez, Eduardo Martell, Jorge Ebro and Alberto Ferreira as well as Orlando “El Duque” Hernández.
Speaking of baseball, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer joined SiriusXM to host his own talk show – Bauer Hour – which will debut Oct. 8 and air on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio channel. Bauer will team up with co-host Casey Stern twice a month throughout the year to discuss the headline stories happening around the league.

Combat Go, the flagship sports network of Jungo TV dedicated to global martial arts competition, culture and lifestyle, announced its fall programming slate with programming that includes the premieres of combat lifestyle series The Combat Show (debuting tonight), Mano a Mano (Nov. 5), and Bushido Battleground (Nov. 13).
Neil Funk, the longtime voice of the Bulls, will step down from his TV play-by-play post after this season, which marks his 29th with the team. Funk will work 52 of the Bulls’ 82 games this season alongside analyst Stacey King on NBC Sports Chicago.

TCS New York City Marathon footwear and apparel sponsor New Balance unveiled its 2019 marketing campaign, with the integrated campaign including runners, NB Pizza Co. pop-up activation, official footwear, apparel and accessories, out-of-home advertising, digital, social engagements and an on-course block party. As New Balance enters the third year as the official footwear and apparel sponsor for NYRR, the brand will launch the NB Pizza Co., a temporary pop-up location in Murray Hill at 47 East 34th Street that will open to the public on Oct. 11 and every weekend thereafter leading up to and including marathon weekend. Runners from around the world can join the “Miles for Pizza” Challenge,” log miles and cash those in when they arrive in New York. New Balance will also again transform the expo experience by bringing the streets of New York to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
The New Mexico Bowl landed a new sponsor with post production studio DreamHouse signing on for a multiyear sponsorship with ESPN Events. This year’s game will kick off the bowl season at noon on Dec. 21 in Albuquerque and feature teams from the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA.

The owners of FanDuel and PokerStars locked in a $12 billion deal to merge and create the world’s biggest online betting group, per multiple reports. Flutter and The Stars Group will look to offer a portfolio of gambling products including online sports betting, fantasy sports, online poker, horse racing, free-to-play and casino games. Together, the two companies see around 4 million active users across more than 100 countries. The proposed merger gives Fox Sports, which partnered with Stars in May to provide sports betting in the US, the right to acquire an 18.5% stake in FanDuel in 2021.
The National Lacrosse League announced a multi-year integrity partnership with Genius Sports, which will conduct a global assessment of current betting activity on NLL games, and project the likely growth given the emergence of a legal sports betting market in the US. “As the sports gambling market in the United States continues to take shape, we as a league have a responsibility to make sure all aspects of our product is beyond reproach, and there is no one better to ensure we maintain the integrity of our game than Genius Sports,” Commissioner Nick Sakiewicz said. “The growth of our league, especially amongst digital natives, along with the expansion of the sport of lacrosse in general, makes the area of data analytics, sports betting and fan engagement one of our key focuses going forward.”

Longtime Arizona Cardinals owner Bill Bidwill passed away Wednesday. He was 88. Bidwill’s father, Charles, bought the Chicago Cardinals in 1932, and Bill became owner f the franchise in 1972. “Bill Bidwill was part of the NFL family his entire life, starting from his days as a ball boy through his time as an owner,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Although never one to seek the spotlight, Bill had an incredible sense of humor and he made extraordinary contributions to the NFL. Bill’s vision brought the Cardinals, the NFL and multiple Super Bowls to Arizona. He was a leader in embracing diversity and employed the first African American female executive, and the first African American general manager and head coach tandem. We extend our condolences to Bill’s family and the Cardinals organization, which along with his faith, meant so much to him.”

The National Football League named Reigning Champs as the official operating partner of NFL FLAG. RC Experiences, a newly launched division of Reigning Champs, will oversee NFL FLAG leagues and tournament play beginning with the operation of the NFL FLAG Championships in January of 2020.
