A logo for Biofreeze will appear as a patch on team uniforms, marking the the 24th NBA team to add a sponsorship patch to their uniforms. In addition The Athletics reports that the company also agreed to an endorsement deal with Damian Lillard.
The National Football League lined up a slate of special events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The NFL, Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Nationwide, are partnering for the eighth annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards to recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market. Each award recipient will be recognized at a game or event hosted by their local NFL team. With support from Nationwide, each recipient will select an organization of their choice that serves the local Hispanic community to receive a $2,000 donation. The theme of the NFL’s Hispanic Heritage Month campaign is “Feel the Orgullo” and throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, fans can visit www.NFL.com/HispanicHeritage for a look at the personal stories of Hispanic players, past and present, who have left a lasting legacy on the NFL.
The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced its marketing campaign theme “Live the Legacy,” along with its 2019 logo to tip-off the CIAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball season. The new campaign showcases “the CIAA’s pillars of tradition, leadership, and community, and highlights the annual legendary sports experience” with both tournaments slated to be hosted in Charlotte from Feb. 25 – March 2, 2019.

ESPN reports that its paid streaming service, ESPN+, has topped one million subscribers less than five months since launch. “Reaching one million paid subscribers is an important milestone for any video subscription service, but reaching this benchmark in such a short amount of time is an incredible testament to the teams from DTCI and ESPN who have worked tirelessly to bring this product to market and continually improve it since our April launch,” Kevin Meyer, Disney’s head of direct-to-consumer efforts, said in a release.
Poker Central and Stadium announced a new poker show available exclusively on Facebook Watch. Friday Night Poker debuts tonight as a new-format series showcasing the “most prominent personalities in poker competing on the felt with thousands of dollars on the line each session.” Over 13 weeks, viewers on Facebook Watch will have the opportunity to engage with the hosts and players in real-time throughout the broadcasts, and may even have a chance to compete by winning a seat in the show. Eps start at 7p with poker play on a 30-minute delay as required by Nevada gaming regulations. Games will take place out of the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Formula 1 charted the course for the F1 Esports Pro Series 2018, presented by New Balance, where the official F1 Esports teams will rev up to be named this year’s F1 Esports Series Teams’ and Drivers’ World Champions on Codemasters’ F1 2018 videogame. The Pro Series will be held as a series of three live events at London’s Gfinity Esports Arena on Oct. 10, Oct. 31 with the Grand Finale spanning Nov. 16-17. Events will be streamed live on Facebook and broadcast globally on selected TV networks, bringing the excitement and exhilaration of Formula 1 to a new generation of fans across the globe.
