DIGITAL DATA
Game of Thrones fans can now turn on the Night King … on Facebook. With a new augmented camera effect, fans will be able to access a new in-app/capture experience filled with masks, frames and style effects from the HBO show that can be used on photos and videos. The effect also features a sneak peek at “The Army of the Dead,” a new song from the show’s Emmy-nominated composer, Ramin Djawadi that was heard first in the show’s season finale on Sunday.
Netflix original documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, which looks at the life of performer Lady Gaga over an eight-month period, will premiere on Friday, September 22 on the channel and in select Los Angeles and New York theaters.
Amazon Studios VP Roy Price says the company is going to focus more on straight-to-series programming, and order fewer pilots. Speaking at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, he noted that pilots “slow you down…. The reality of the marketplace is it’s competitive, and often you just have to go to series…. We still will have customer feedback, but will probably have fewer pilots for sure.”

The number of people aged 2 and older is up by 2.8 million to 304.5 million. The annual adjustments get their basis from US Census Bureau data and Nielsen’s own information, and partly reflects growth in Hispanic, African-American and Asian population. The numbers indicate that 96.5% of all US homes have a TV, a half-percentage point higher than last year.
