Ryan Seacrest is going big with ABC. His Ryan Seacrest Productions inked a multi-year overall deal with ABC Studios, where his company’s scripted division will develop scripted projects exclusively for ABC Studios at all TV networks and platforms, including broadcast, basic and premium cable and on-demand services.
NBC is rebooting comedy series The Munsters, with Odd Mom Out creator Jill Kargman and Seth Meyers. The new series, currently in development, follows members of an offbeat family determined to stay true to themselves as they struggle to fit in in hipster-infested Brooklyn.
Lifetime is sending straight to series the scripted American Princess, from Jenji Kohan, Jamie Denbo and Tara Herrman. The ten-episode series follows a socialite who runs off to join a Renaissance Faire after her wedding goes awry. It hails from A+E Studios in association with IM Global Television.
Three weeks ahead of the second season finale, USA Network ordered a third season of drama series Queen of the South for premiere in 2018.
Kill The Orange Face Bear, being billed with the corresponding knife, orange-face and bear emojis, is headed to Comedy Central. Toplined by Alex Karpovsky (Girls), written by Blue Mountain State co-creator Chris Romano and directed by Jake Szymanski, the series centers on a man whose girlfriend is eaten alive by a bear in front of him who vows to get revenge. Romano will also showrun.
Katrina: American Crime Story, Ryan Murphy’s limited series for FX, is moving forward. The team acquired the book Five Days At Memorial by Pulitzer Prize winner Sheri Fink as source material, according to Deadline.
Fox ordered a second season of dating show reboot Love Connection, and Andy Cohen will return as host.

INSP will premiere the second season of original Taylor Hicks-hosted series State Plate tonight (August 11) at 8p, as part of the network’s “Destination Fridays” programming block.
The Cowboy Channel is adding Rodeo Video Inc. to its Friday night lineup beginning tonight (August 11) at 7p. Series takes viewers inside roping and rodeo events.
Vroom vroom: Season 4 of Garage Squad premieres on Velocity on Wednesday, August 30 at 10p. New hourlong eps will feature the squad helping a new group of “project car” owners get their autos back on the road… Also on August 30, Fast N’ Loud spinoff series Misfit Garage returns to Discovery at 9p. with the misfits at Fired Up Garage back in hopes of turning their shop into a money-making machine.
House rehabber Ally Mahon transforms Pittsburgh’s battered old homes into timeless treasures in the new DIY Network series Vintage Rehab, premiering Wednesday, September 6, at 9p.
Bravo Media unfurls season 5 of Below Deck on Tuesday, September 5 at 9p. Captain Lee Rosbach, Kate Chastain (chief stew), Nico Scholly (senior deckhand) et al are back for another Caribbean charter.

A week of new eps of PBS Kids’ Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood kicks off on Monday, September 4. Content includes a special where Daniel is curious about what it’s like to be king, so King Friday dubs him King for the Day as he takes on his royal mission.

Grammy-award winning recording artist Kendrick Lamar is in for the VMAs, airing live on MTV Sunday, August 27 at 8p.
Discovery on August 31 will premiere Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman, an official selection at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. Narrated by Tom Brokaw, the film explores conservation heroism, set deep in America’s heartland featuring families who work the land and sea and are crossing political divides to protect the natural resources vital to their livelihoods and the nation.
