Heineken locked in new partnerships with UEFA’s Women’s Champions League, UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and 2025, and W Series, the international single-seater motor racing championship for female drivers. The announcement was celebrated in a new film featuring Heineken ambassadors Thierry Henry and David Coulthard, alongside Pernille Harder, Melanie Leupolz, Jamie Chadwick, and Naomi Schiff. “We are committed to delivering great shared moments to consumers all over the world and our sponsorships are exciting platforms to connect with fans through their passions and enhance their experiences,” said Bram Westenbrink, Global Head of Heineken Brand. “By extending our partnerships in football and motorsport to include W Series, UEFA Women’s Champions League and UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 and 2025, we are enabling more thrilling experiences for all.”

PROGRAMMING

TUDN’s telecast of the 2021 MLS All-Star Game, featuring the MLS’s best taking on a star laden squad from Liga MX, averaged 1.4 million Total Viewers 2+ and 736,000 Adults 18-49 on Univision and TUDN to rank as the most-watched MLS All-Star game of all-time on Spanish-language television among Adults 18-49 and second among Total Viewers 2+ (trailing only the 2017 edition). The match peaked during the 11:30p quarter hour with 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+ and 885,000 Adults 18-49. In addition, the match saw triple-digit growth versus the 2019 edition with Total Viewers 2+ (1.4 million vs. 629,000; +123%) and Adults 18-49 (736,000 vs. 366,000; +101%).

FOX detailed its talent roster for the college football season, led by Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft, who reunite for the fifth consecutive year to call Big Noon Saturday, the network’s biggest game of the week at noon. Play-by-play announcer Joe Davis and analyst Brock Huard kick off FOX Sports’ 2021 live college football coverage on Saturday with Nebraska/Illinois at 1p. Broadcast partners Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman enter their seventh year together for FOX Sports, opening the season in Austin, TX, with a Louisiana/Texas tilt on Sept. 4. Other pairings include: Devin Gardner/Eric Collins; Mark Helfrich/Aaron Goldsmith; Robert Smith/Cory Provus; and Alex FaustPetros Papadakis.

Meanwhile, CBS Sports released its announcer and studio lineups for the 2021 college football season, led by Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl, who once again call the network’s marquee game each week. Noah Eagle joins CBS Sports’ college football coverage, and will team with analysts Aaron Murray and Rick Neuheisel, along with sideline reporter Jenny Dell, for additional SEC ON CBS games. Additionally, Rich Waltz, Aaron Taylor and reporter Sherree Burress will announce the action for the Mountain West games broadcast on the CBS Television Network this season. Adam Zucker will anchor College Football Today, CBS Sports’ pregame, halftime and postgame studio show on the CBS with analysts Brian Jones and Rick Neuheisel.

Around the dial, CBS Sports Network’s college football game coverage this season will feature several newcomers, including Donte Whitner as an analyst, play-by-play announcers Chris Lewis and Chick Hernandez, and sideline reporters Josh Martin, Brandon Baylor, Lindsay Rhodes and Desmond Purnell. Waltz, Taylor and Dell will serve as the lead announce team for CBS Sports Network. John Sadak or Hernandez, along with Randy Cross and Sheehan Stanwick-Burch, will handle Navy games for CBS Sports Network, while Jason Horowitz, Ross Tucker and reporter Tina Cervasio will call Army games throughout the season. Play-by-play announcers Dave Ryan, Jason Knapp, Ed Cohen, Alex Del Barrio, Chris Hassel and Michael Grady, analysts Murray, Corey Chavous and Sed Bonner, along with returning sideline reporters Amanda Guerra and Justin Walters also will call games on CBS Sports Network throughout the season.

Navy Athletics will host CBS Sports’ college football studio shows on Sept. 11 for live telecasts from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, led by host Adam Zucker and analysts Rick Neuheisel and Brian Jones.

CBS Sports also revealed its announcer lineup and coverage plans for the final round of Concacaf Men’s World Cup Qualifiers. CBS Sports will provide coverage of 21 matches during the September and October windows, including all U.S. road matches and all Mexico home and away matches, starting Sept. 2. Host Kate Abdo and analysts Clint Dempsey, Charlie Davies and Oguchi Onyewu return for CBS Sports’ live pre-match, halftime and post-match studio show. Nico Cantor will also contribute to studio coverage. Mexico Women’s National Team player Janelly Farias will contribute to coverage on-site in Mexico on Thursday, Sept. 2 and will also serve as a match analyst alongside play-by-play announcer Adrian Garcia-Marquez. Farias and Garcia-Marquez will call Costa Rica vs. Mexico on Sunday, Sept. 5. Play-by-play announcer Andres Cordero and analyst Maurice Edu will call El Salvador vs. United States on Thursday, Sept. 2 and Honduras vs. United States on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

Triller Fight Club: LEGENDS II is adding star power via musical guests to the show set for Sept. 11 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. Musical acts announced include a performance by Snoop Dogg with Marvin Gaye, plus Anitta, Lunay, Gente de Zona and others to be announced. The event is produced by Nigel Lythgoe and will be hosted by rap icon Snoop Dogg.

ESPN opted to pull Rachel Nichols off of all NBA programming and is canceling her weekday afternoon show “The Jump,” the network confirmed to outlets. David Roberts, ESPN’s senior vice president of production, said in a statement to CNN Business that the sides “mutually agreed that this approach regarding our NBA coverage was best for all concerned.”

Bleacher Report’s B/R Gridiron and B/R Betting revealed a new slate of on-demand programming and original content ahead of the 2021 football season that will include a range of live, animated and dynamic social content. Programming includes B/R Betting’s ‘Squad Ride Kickoff Week Presented by DraftKings,’ a live, in-depth and interactive look at the sportsbook’s offerings for the new football season. Tuesday night’s Yankees/Braves telecast was YES’ most-viewed primetime game of the year, averaging 423,000 Total Viewers in the New York DMA. 71,000 unique streamers watched the game on the YES App, making it the second most-viewed game ever on either the YES App or its predecessor, FOX Sports GO.
