Tough Mudder is partnering with Nickelodeon for Mini Mudder. The channel now becomes the official entertainment media partner of Mini Mudder, a one-mile Mud Run designed for adventure-seeking kids and consists of eight to ten fun and challenging team-focused obstacles. Mini Mudder will add a brand-new Nickelodeon-themed “Slime” obstacle to its courses in celebration of the network’s annual Worldwide Day of Play on Sept. 29. Mini Mudder events include: Plymouth, WI (Sept. 8-9); Pittsburgh (Sept. 8-9); Nashville (Sept. 15-16); Gilford, NH (Sept. 22-23); Dallas/Ft. Worth (Sept. 29-30); Englishtown, NJ (Oct. 6-7); Bartow, FL (Oct. 15-16); and Atlanta (Oct. 20-21).
MLS and Twitter unveiled a new Tweet Cam on Friday as part of MLS Heineken Rivalry Week. The Twitter powered camera was on the field at StubHub Center as part of a social campaign and marked the first time in Twitter’s history where a Twitter-powered camera will be used during an MLS game, in addition to a professional sporting event. Powered by the rivalry hashtag #LALookIn, the Tweet cam allowed fans the ability to get a glimpse of the action from northeast corner of the arena.

The upgrade and redesign will see the site offer new features that include specific pages tailored to the track’s varied ticket packages; a dedicated section for kids, track partners and videos; streamlined camping information; a simplified buying process; and a mobile-first digital experience.
The esports community was quick to rally together to support victims from Sunday’s shooting in Jacksonville, which claimed the lives of four people and at least seven wounded after a gunman opened fire at the Madden Championship Series southeast qualifier before turning the gun on himself. The shooter was reportedly one of the contestants taking part in the tournament. Electronic Arts — the digital interactive entertainment company that produces the Madden video game and that sanctioned Sunday’s Jacksonville tournament — issued a statement on its Twitter account, writing, “This is a horrible situation, and our deepest sympathies go out to all involved.”
With The International 8 in the books, Valve surprised some fans by announcing the The International 9 would be moving off of the continent entirely. The International Dota 2 world championship will be held in Shanghai, the company announced, after this year’s event was held in Vancouver, while the previous six took place in Seattle. No date for the event had been released. Meanwhile, OG Dota took the crown for The International 8, and will lay claim to over$11.2 million as their cut from the $25.4 million crowd-funded purse.

Japanese entertainment company Akatsuki is launching a new esports league designed to be made up exclusively with established sports franchises. The League of Professional Esports will include sports brands such as: FC Barcelona (Spain),Ajax (Netherlands), Galatasaray (Turkey), Santos F.C. (Brazil), Real Sociedad (Spain) and Villarreal (Spain) and Tokyo Verdy (Japan) with the league featuring multiple game titles with league and cup matches. The inaugural season will launch in 2019 as clubs compete for a maximum $500,000 prize pool.
