Paramount Network’s Yellowstone delivered a series high rating in Live+3 for episode six, with a 1.3 among A18-49.
Several of Discovery’s U.S. Networks broke records in July 2018, and the portfolio earned three of the top five slots for W25-54 prime delivery in ad-supported cable for the month – TLC #1, HGTV #4, and ID #5. Driven by one of its strongest Shark Weeks ever, Discovery Channel finished the month ahead of last July across all 25-54, 18-49, and 18-34 demos, with growth across six nights of the week.
Other company highlights include: HGTV finished July ranked as the #3 cable network among W25-54 and #8 among A25-54 in Prime; Food Network delivered double-digit A25-54 rating growth in July, ranking it as the #7 cable net among W25-54 and #4 among upscale W25-54; TLC had its best July performance ever, ranking as the #1 cable network in Prime among W25-54; July 2018 was ID’s best July ever in Prime across all key demos – P2+, HH, P/W/M 25-54, P/W/M 18-49; and OWN had its highest-rated month in the Daytime daypart (.17 W25-54), up +42% over last year.
It was Animal Planet’s second consecutive month of year-over-year Prime growth among A25-54 and W25-54. The network broke into ad-supported cable’s top 10 on Saturdays among women (#7), and Travel Channel produced its highest-rated July ever for A25-54 and M25-54 viewers, posting 16% gains over last July. In Prime and Total Day, July 2018 became Velocity’s most-watched July in network history, and marked the net’s 20th consecutive month of year-over-year Prime delivery growth among A25-54 and P/M18+. It was Science Channel’s highest-rated July among P/M/W25-54 and P2+, making the sixth month this year the net has set A25-54 monthly ratings records. And DIY Network recorded its highest-rated ever July among A25-54 and M25-54 during Prime.
The premiere of Globo telenovela O Tempo Nao Para (Time does not Stop, in a loose translation) reached 40.8 million Brazilian viewers and a share of 46% – the best result for a first chapter in the slot since 2013.

EXECUTIVE MOVES
The same day word broke of the departure of Luis Silberwasser, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced new responsibilities for four execs. Beau Ferrari, as EVP of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, will closely partner with all content divisions and NBCUniversal teams across the portfolio; Monica Gil, EVP & Chief Marketing Officer, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, will serve as the key executive driving the company’s reputation, brand and corporate marketing; in the newly created role ofEVP, Revenue Strategy & Innovation for NBCUni Telemundo Enterprises, Peter Blacker will work across linear and digital platforms to amplify the company’s monetization efforts; and Ronald Day, EVP, Entertainment, Telemundo Networks, will be responsible for programming, talent and promotions of primetime, daytime and specials for Telemundo and Universo Networks.
Discovery, Inc. appointed Peter Faricy to the newly created role of CEO, Global Direct-to-Consumer, overseeing Discovery’s global digital and direct-to-consumer businesses. Faricy joins Discovery from Amazon.
PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi is stepping down, and will be replaced by the company’s president, Ramon Laguarta. Nooyi will remain as chairman until early 2019.
Bryan Curb was named Chief Creative Office at Litton Entertainment. Curb is Executive Producer for several series on ABC stations, as well as NBC’s The More You Know series.
Karen Hobson has been tapped to fill the newly-created role of Senior Vice President of Communications for The Walt Disney Co.’s direct-to-consumer and international division. Most recently, Hobson was VP of Corporate Communications for the Disney|ABC Television Group.
Premiere Networks promoted Casey Silcock to Vice President of Affiliate Relations/Morning Shows from Director of Affiliate Relations.
IN MEMORIAM
Charlotte Rae, best known to TV audiences for playing Mrs. Garrett on Diff’rent Strokes and Facts of Life, died August 5. She was age 92. Rae was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2011, and last year revealed she had bone cancer.
