ABC News’ Lincoln Square Productions is teaming with JuVee Productions and XCON Productions to develop a 6-part true-crime documentary series for ABC that follows 2 long-time death row inmates. Working title is 4%, a reference to the percentage of people on death row, according to a study, who may actually be innocent.
UK prodco Icon Films was commissioned by Discovery Channel to create Shark Week film special Great Hammerhead Invasion, following a shark scientist as he tags the solitary sharks.
Ali Adler inked an overall deal with CBS Television Studios, where she’ll develop new projects and consult on upcoming CW reboot Dynasty. Adler will also consult on Warner Bros. TV’s Supergirl, which she co-created and where she has served as co-executive producer and co-showrunner. Filling her Supergirl shoes: Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner have been bumped up to co-showrunner, along with co-creator Andrew Kreisberg.

Seeso underwent staff cuts. This comes after the departure last month of Evan Shapiro, who launched the NBCU SVOD comedy service in January 2016. Some employees were reassigned to other jobs in the company’s digital enterprises division. NBCU is reportedly re-evaluating its business model. Currently Seeso offers next-day streaming of shows including NBC’s late nighters, originals and acquired programming.
All 4 seasons of Heroes (2006-1010) and the entire run of limited series Heroes Reborn (2016-17) will be available on Crackle starting Thursday, July 13.

McDonald’s is cutting official ties with the International Olympic Committee and the U.S. Olympic Committee 3 years before the expiration of its current deal. “As part of our global growth plan, we are reconsidering all aspects of our business and have made this decision in cooperation with the IOC to focus on different priorities,” says Silvia Lagnado, McDonald’s global CMO. McDonald’s has worked with the IOC since 1976.

The season 4 premiere of History’s Alone on June 15 delivered 1.7 million Total Viewers (+42% vs. S3 premiere), and saw double-digit gains in key demos including A24-54 (+33%), A18-49 (+22%) and M25-54 (+19%), according to Nielsen. Week 2 of the net’s Mountain Men built on its season 6 premiere delivering 2.3 million Total Viewers (+15% versus last week) and posting gains across all key demos including A25-54 (+24%), A18-49 (+27%), M25-54 (+34%) and M18-49 (+42%).
The series finale of CW’s Reign rated a series low .2 among A18-49, but was up 15% in total viewers week to week, to 77,000.

Connor Schell’s job at ESPN just got bigger. As Executive Vice President of Content, Schell adds oversight ESPN’s content creation across TV, digital and print platforms, in addition to ESPN Films, Original Content, Audio and the Talent Office.
Shannon Ryan was promoted to the new position of Chief Marketing Officer, Fox Television Group, and Darren Schillace has been named Executive Vice President, Marketing, Fox Broadcasting Company. Most recently, Ryan served as EVP, Marketing and Communication for FTG, and Schillace was SVP, Marketing, ABC Entertainment.
Apple hired Sony Pictures Television execs Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg to head its video programming business. “We have exciting plans in store for customers and can’t wait for them to bring their expertise to Apple,” said Eddy Cue, SVP of Internet Software and Services.
AccuWeather appointed Bill McGarry as Vice President of Ad Sales. Previously, McGarry served as Chief Revenue Officer at The Daily Beast.

Actor Stephen Furst died June 17 due to complications from diabetes. He was 63. Furst, who played Flounder on Animal House, was best known to TV audiences as Eliott Axelrod on St. Elsewhere.
