ABC morning talker The View has a new co-host. Actress/singer Raven-Symone, (That’s So Raven, Empire), a frequent guest on the show, replaces Rosie O’Donnell, who left in February for personal reasons. “Raven is smart, funny and genuine,” said exec producer Bill Wolff. “She brings a fresh perspective on the hot topics of the day, and she’s a lively, welcome addition to our conversations and interviews.”

ABC is launching the bulk of its series the week of Monday, September 21. Early arrivals include 20/20 on Friday, September 11, and Dancing With the Stars on Monday, September 14. Newcomer The Muppets takes its place in the Tuesday lineup September 22 at 8p, while Blood & Oil and Quantico premiere Sunday, September 27 at 9p and 10p. Straggler Dr. Ken makes its debut Friday, October 2; Beyond the Tank airs Tuesdays starting September 29 until the bow of Wicked City, originally slated for midseason, on October 27.

Spike’s Lip Sync Battle is going live onMonday, July 13, as part of NYC’s SummerStage festival.Series host and New York native LL Cool J will also host the live show, with Big Apple resident Chrissy Teigen on hand for color commentary.“Lip Sync Battle was born and raised in New York City,” said exec producer Casey Patterson.“The event will be free for our amazing fans. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush will make an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, June 16, the day after he’s slated to formally announce his run for the GOP presidential nomination. He’ll have his work cut out for him competing with First Lady Michelle Obama and the Evolution of Mom Dancing….

Gwen Stefani is returning to NBC’s The Voice as coach for season nine, relieving Christina Aguilera, who’s going back to making music for a spell. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams will all be back, along with host Carson Daly. “I can’t believe I get to return to The Voice,” said Stefani. “I love those guys.”

ABC Family is breathing new life into teen dramas Dawson’s Creek (1998-2003) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003). The series launch on the net Monday, June 22 at 12p and 5p, respectively, with ten episodes chosen by fans airing during “Fan Favorite Week.” Starting June 29, the shows air from the beginning.

Viacom president Doug Herzog said despite the controversy that erupted in March over past tasteless Twitter jokes made by Trevor Noah, set to replace Jon Stewart as host of Comedy Central’s Daily Show on September 28, there were never plans to replace the South African comedian. Calling the furor “unpleasant” at a Tuesday session at the PromaxBDA conference, Herzog also admitted, “We did not vet his Twitter feed before we hired him…That was the first thing my boss asked.”

Showtime renewed Episodes, starring Matt LeBlanc, for a nine-episode season five. Shameless and House of Lies have already been picked up; no word yet on Penny Dreadful and Happyish. Episodes begins filming in London in 2016.

More Showtime news: the premium net picked up the rights to Play it Forward, about the family and career of the NFL’s Tony Gonzalez. Documentary from SMAC Entertainment and Rare Bird Films was produced by Cristan Reilly and exec produced by Constance Schwartz and Hall of Famer/Live! With Kelly and Michael co-host Michael Strahan.

Netflix stock rose over 6 percent Wednesday morning, to $692.79, after news broke that Marriott Hotels will be the first hotel chain enabling Netflix subscribers to watch the streaming service in their rooms. Live at six hotels now, the chain anticipates offering Netflix at almost all of its 300-plus properties by the end of 2016.

Conan O’Brien’s musical guests are moving to Spotify. Team Coco on Spotify launches with the release of 22 playlists, one for each year O’Brien’s been on the air, featuring every song played over the course of O’Brien’s three shows. AT&T is presenting sponsor. O’Brien’s current late night home, of course, is TBS’s Conan, weeknights at 11p.

Viewers of TLC’s Love, Lust or Run have a fourth choice, starting Friday, June 12 at 9p: Buy. Go2Buy technology from Stylinity will allow viewers to purchase the clothes and accessories featured on the show, with outfits connected to “Buy Now” buttons and secure checkout on a retail site. “We are able to feature multiple links and showcase entire outfits for our viewers, “ said Scott Lewers, SVP of multiplatform strategy for TLC, “and, most importantly, deliver a strong complement to our programming.”

On the heels of a season two premiere that delivered 1.43 million viewers, up 209 percent from its year-ago launch, Starz renewed Power for a third go-round. Creator, executive producer and showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh will return alongside executive producers Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and newly elevated Gary Lennon.

Independent digital video network Omnia Media struck a strategic partnership that will bring its content creators to free VOD provider Music Choice. Omnia and Music Choice will also partner to co-produce original programming featuring Omnia talent to air across Music Choice properties and Omnia Media’s network.

Logo has launched Logo Documentary Films, to chronicle an LGBT culture “rich with remarkable stories,” said head of programming Pamela Post. A new film will premiere each month, starting with Out in the Night, about the 2006 case of African-Americans who were violently threatened and then charged with attempted murder, on Monday, June 22 at 10p as part of PBS’s POV series.

Production for Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition kicks off this week, headed for a fall premiere. Dean Cain, Ellen Cleghorne, Jenni "JWOWW" Farley, Chris Soules, Jaleel White, Kendra Wilkinson and Barry Williams attempt culinary transformations on behalf of the charities of their choice.

CBC and The Gurin Company are developing format Take Sides with Canadian content creator marblemedia. The concept, putting a hot button topic “on trial,” is the first series to come out of the creative collaboration deal signed between the CBC and Gurin.
  

COMING UP

Opinions and beliefs are put to the test in Lifetime docu-series Living With the Enemy, premiering Tuesday, July 9 at 10p. Families with wildly different values are forced to live and work with each other in the social experiment, confronting topics like parenting, marriage and porn.

A super-size Naked and Afraid series edition premieres on Discovery Sunday, July 12 at 10p. Naked and Afraid XL strands six of the savviest past N&A survivalists in a jungle for a 40-day challenge “exponentially more difficult” than anything that’s been tried before. A marathon to reintroduce the cast begins Saturday, June 28 at 10a.

Three-part Operation Wild follows veterinarian teams trying to save and improve the lives of animals. First up: a trip to the Wolong Giant Panda Base in China, where vets use high-tech medicine to try and save the species, Wednesday, July 1 at 8p on PBS.

A professional video game-playing phenom forced to enroll in public high school for the first time is the focus of Disney XD comedy Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything. Series, picked up for a full season, stars Cameron Boyce (Jessie).

IFC hockey comedy Benders, currently in production in New York, has cast Steven Shirripa (The Sopranos) in the recurring role of Vito. Series launches Thursday, October 1 at 10p.

Leonard Roberts (American Sniper) joins the cast of FX’s American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson as journalist Dennis Schatzman. He replaces Gbenga Akinnagbe, who bowed out due to a scheduling conflict.

Mark Consuelos (Alpha House) will recur on season two of DirecTV MMA drama Kingdom, returning this fall.

Dominique Pinon (Amelie) has been cast in season two of StarzOutlander as mysterious healer Master Raymond. Drama is in production in Scotland for a 2016 premiere.

BRANDS AND ADVERTISING

Twenty percent of small and medium-sized businesses will up their TV station ad spends in the next year, but 60 percent will increase budgets for online/digital, according to a new report on local media from Borrell Associates. Mobile media will see the biggest bump, predicts Borrell, from almost no increase in 2010 to 50 percent planning to spend more in 2015.

Through three games, the 2015 NBA Finals is the highest-rated ever on ABC, according to Nielsen. Versus last year, Tuesday’s Game 3 was up 27 percent in viewers (18.8 million) and 24 percent among A18-49 (7.3/25), for the best-ever Game 3 numbers since ABC began carriage in 2003.

Fox News docu-series Legends & Lies: The Real West delivered a highest-ever 377,000 among A25-54 on Sunday and 1.37 million viewers, up 202 percent in the demo and 33 percent in viewers from its premiere. Finale airs Sunday, June 14.

Tuesday A18-49 Analysis: ABC earned a 5.9/21 rating among A18-49 viewers to top Tuesday, according to final primetime national ratings from Nielsen. NBC’s America’s Got Talent was first at 8p with 2.2/8, followed by an average 1.5/7 for ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night and NBA Countdown. ABC grabbed the ball at 9p with 5.9/20 for Game 3 of the NBA finals, opposite 2.5/8 for NBC’s Talent. The game rose to 7.6/24 at 10p, versus 1.6/5 for NBC’s I Can Do That.
