Sunday’s One Love Manchester concert drew an average 10.9 million viewers and a 49.3 share in the UK, making it the most-watched TV program of the year, according to overnight ratings. The event raised over $2.6 million for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
Sunday’s 2017 NBA Finals game 2 on ABC (the Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 132-113) delivered 19.7 million viewers and a 7.1 rating among A18-49, according to Nielsen fast nationals, up 13% in viewers and 9% in the demo versus last year’s game 2. It was the biggest audience ever for a game 2 on ABC, since the net began carrying the NBC finals in 2003.
Opposite ABC’s big game, the premiere of Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly brought NBC an average 6.1 million viewers and a .8 rating among A18-49. The new show won the demo but was second to a 60 Minutes repeat in viewers (6.6 million/.6). It was NBC’s best non-sports audience in the slot since March 2016.
ID scored its best May ever for prime delivery of P2+ (969,000), HH (808,000), P25-54 (408,000), W25-54 (279,000), P18-49 (322,000) and W18-49 (216,000). The net also ranked #1 for total day delivery of W25-54 in ad-supported cable and the #2 place for P25-54 for the month.
The series finale of Animal Planet’s River Monsters on May 28 ranked as the highest rated episode of the series in over two years in L+3, pushing Animal Planet to be the #1 overall ad-supported cable network that night at 9p among M25-54. The series premiere of Expedition Mungo that night at 10p tied as the net’s highest-rated primetime series premiere among P25-54 in two years (5/25/15).
Escape Prime viewership gains in May included increases of: +34% in Households, +34% in the delivery of W18+ and +27% in P2+ over May 2016. Katz Broadcasting sister net Grit’s Primetime increases over last May were led by: +26% in Household delivery, +12% in P18-49, and +18% in P2+, while LAFF’s ratings gains included year-over-year Primetime growth of: +68% in Households, +98% in P18-49 and +75% in P25-54.

EXECUTIVE MOVES
Amy Reisenbach has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Current Programs at CBS, overseeing current programming for both CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Studios. Reisenbach had been SVP, Current programs since 2015.
Gabriel Marano has joined Fox Broadcasting Company as Senior Vice President, Drama Programming & Development. In this role, he will be responsible for supervising the development and production of new and returning scripted series for the network. Most recently, Marano was Senior Vice President of Drama Programming for A&E.
Dubbing/subtitling company BTI Studios appointed Oskars Killo as its new Sales Director, EMEA. Killo’s previous employers included 20th Century Fox, CEE Films and ACME Films.
Noel Hedges is joining Entertainment One in the newly created role of Executive Vice President of Acquisitions, eOne Television. Appoinyment is effective September 4.
IN MEMORIAM
Actor Peter Sallis died June 2. He was 96. Sallis was best known as the voice of Wallis in Wallace & Gromit, and for BBC comedy Last of the Summer Wine.
