CSI is ending its 15-season run on CBS in style, with a two-hour movie airing Sunday, September 27. The special finale will reunite original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger, and feature other cast members who have been on the procedural over the years, including Ted Danson. "CSI was one of the shows that helped us reverse our fortunes and we are really glad to be able to give it the send off it deserves," said Kelly Kahl, SVP, CBS Primetime.

IN THE NEWS

Bradley Cooper, whose TV credits include Alias, is heading back to the small screen. The actor, exec producer on the CBS series adaptation of his 2011 movie Limitless, will reprise his film role and recur as a sidekick to Jake McDorman’s character. Cooper appears in the pilot and will continue on the show, depending on his availability, moving forward.

Deadline is reporting that Peter MacNicol is exiting CSI: Cyber. The actor, who plays FBI Assistant Deputy Director Simon Sifter on the CBS drama, will not return for the show’s second season.

Univision debuts Lo Imperdonable, starring Ana Brenda Contreras and Ivan Sanchez, on Monday, May 18 at 9p. Executive Producer Salvador Mejia’s latest telenovela tells the story of a man trying to avenge his brother’s death, but gets tangled in a mess that includes a millionaire family, sisters who compete for love, and an heir who wants to marry his adoptive cousin.

Cat Deeley (So You Think You Can Dance) will emcee the live broadcast of the Critics’ Choice Television Awards on A&E Sunday, May 31 at 8p. Deeley hosted  the first Critics’ Choice Television Awards in 2011.

E!‘s Live from the Red Carpet offers access to stars ahead of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 17 at 6p. Giuliana Rancic and Terrence Jenkins welcome the likes of Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Nick Jonas, One Direction and Nicki Minaj.

Starz announced premiere dates for scripted series Blunt Talk and the return of Survivor’s Remorse. The comedy block kicks off at 9p on Saturday, August 22 with the 10-episode first season of Blunt Talk. Set in Los Angeles, the show follows Walter Blunt, a British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. The sophomore season of Remorse follows at 9:30p.

UPFRONTS UPDATE

Big changes are on the agenda at TBS and TNT. At its upfront presentation on Wednesday, president Kevin Reilly announced “a proactive makeover” of both networks. Namely, a shift in focus for the TNT slate of original dramas and a rebrand of TBS, expected to begin by the end of the year.

A sample of TNT’s new, edgier original programming includes Alienist, an eight-part drama/psychological thriller based on the bestseller by Caleb Carr and set in the gritty world of Gilded Age New York City. The net also greenlit pilots Will, a series about a young William Shakespeare, and family crime drama Animal Kingdom

Upcoming shows for TBS include comedies Angie Tribeca starring Rashida Jones and The Detour from The Daily Show‘s  Samantha Bee and Jason Jones. The duo are also developing “a new issues-oriented series” for the network. TBS also issued a series order to ensemble comedy Wrecked, about people stranded on a desert island (that looked a lot funnier than it sounds).

News network CNN is adding two new, non-scripted shows to its portfolio. The Eighties is a follow-up to The Sixties and The Seventies from Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman. Eight-part Declassified examines true stories of America’s covert operations around the world.

CBS unveiled its 2015-2016 primetime lineup, featuring seven new shows and 22 returning series. New fall dramas include medical series Code Black, set in the busiest, most notorious ER in the nation; the aforementioned Limitless, based on the feature film with Bradley Cooper, starring Jake McDorman as an average guy who can suddenly access 100% of his brain capacity with a mysterious pill; Supergirl, based on the DC Comics superhero, and spin-off Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, starring Gary Sinise.

On the comedy front, the network presented Angel from Hell, about a loud, often inappropriate woman who claims to be a guardian angel, starring  Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson, and Life in Pieces, an irreverent look at a family’s sometimes awkward, yet beautiful milestone moments, starring Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt and Dan Bakkedahl.

CBS‘ 2015-2016 season will also feature a lineup of big events, including the premiere of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, September 8 and the exclusive presentation of Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

Estrella TV’s message to advertisers at its Upfront Gala at Bryant Park Grill in Manhattan focused on its continued viewer growth at a time of audience decline, emphasizing the fact that the net was up in the key targets of A18-49 and 25-54.

In addition, Estrella announced plans to launch Fenomeno Studios, a new multi-channel network that will feature channels across different genres, including musical parodies and gaming with Don Cheto, lifestyle and pranks with Luis Coronel, DIY, beauty, sports offerings and more. Also on the docket: En La Lucha, an entertainment show showcasing today’s rising political stars; iTestigo, a news-based “citizens reporters” program featuring user generated content of events and social issues, and an unnamed comedy interview show starring Mexican actress/comedian Consuelo Duval

COMING UP

It’s the clash of the talk show titans. On Thursday, May 14, in special segments airing on both shows, the hosts of Dr. Phil and Steve Harvey face off in physical competitions as well as an advice challenge. Part one airs on Steve Harvey; part two and the reveal of the winner airs on Dr. Phil.

The series that started it all, Bravo Media’s The Real Housewives of Orange County, is back for a landmark 10th season on Monday, June 8 at 9p. Original housewife Vicki Gunvalson returns along with Tamra Judge, Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador. Added to the mix: Meghan King Edmonds and Lizzie Rovsek.

Telemundo viewers will get the opportunity to make their loved ones’ dreams come true, via testimonials and heart-warming stories, on La Sorpresa de Tu Vida (The Surprise of Your Life). The  two-hour, interactive show features games, music and humor segments. Hosted by Angelica Vale and Raul Gonzalez, series airs Saturday nights next season.

Six-part natural history series Life Story, a Discovery Channel/BBC co-production, premieres Saturday, June 6 at 9p on Discovery Channel. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, the program was filmed in 29 countries on six continents.
