WarnerMedia has also set distribution deals with Charter Communications, Google, Apple and YouTube TV ahead of HBO Max’s May 27 launch. Season five of OWN’s Greenleaf, launching in June, will be its final run. Last season, the church drama was the #1 original scripted series on ad-supported cable for African-American women and AA total viewers, and was also the #4 original scripted series on ad-supported cable for all W25-54, leading OWN to be Tuesday night’s #1 cable network among African-American women, AA households, and AA total viewers.

Charter Communications met analysts’ expectations for the first quarter with a 5% rise in total revenue to $11.7 billion, with internet customers increasing 6%, to 25.5 million, offsetting a decline in video subscribers of 70,000. Responding to New York Attorney General Letitia James’ call for refunds from pay-TV operators during the absence of sports content, Charter CEO Tom Rutledge said that while the company “would love to see our customers be relieved if they can be,” they have “very little control” over the price of cable bundles, due to contracts. “Ultimately it’s the athletes who are getting the money,” said Rutledge during an earnings call. “Someone has to give up their money and give it back to the consumer and that has not happened yet.”

ABC unveiled the first round of celebrity guests joining The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II, airing Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10 at 7p. Contenders who play ages 18-25 can self-record one of four Freeform series monologues and submit their video for consideration. “During this time, we know that many actors are at home looking for new ways to be creative, so we look forward to seeing some inspired submissions from the community,” said Elizabeth Boykewich, SVP, Casting, Freeform.

Bloomberg L.P. announced that all invoices from the company’s vendors will be processed and paid within three business days of receipt and approval, to provide more immediate cash on hand. Currently, vendors have payment terms of 30 to 45 days. Bloomberg L.P. is also continuing to pay vendors for hourly workers who are normally assigned to Bloomberg, even if those workers are not currently working because of the pandemic. “In the current environment, small businesses need cash on hand to survive,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, founder and majority owner of Bloomberg L.P. “We greatly value all our vendors and the services of their workers who support our company. We will do our part to ensure they can continue to operate…I hope all businesses that have the means to do so make similar decisions.”
