Things are moving and shaking at Genius Brands International. The company just launched an online streaming service for its entire library of Baby Genius branded content, which comprises thousands of songs and videos for toddlers. And there’s more. Genius extended its agreement with Xfinity TV by Comcast, and Netflix began offering a slate of Baby Genius home entertainment titles for the first time in the on-demand service’s Kids Content section. Baby Genius has been the top Xfinity On Demand property on the Baby Boost Channel, amassing more than 50 million downloads over the past seven years. Titles in the Netflix deal include Favorite Children’s Songs, Favorite Sing-A-Longs, Underwater Adventure and The Four Seasons. "With the prevalence of hand-held mobile device use among young children and the increased amount of time kids spend with these devices, the need for easy access to quality digital entertainment has never been greater," says Andy Heyward, chairman/CEO of GBI.
Season 7 of the adventures of fairy besties Winx Club will air on a bevvy of Nickelodeon global networks, thanks to a new deal between Rainbow and Nick. The new season will debut in 2015 and features the young Winx fairies taking on fresh adventures and challenges in the Magic Dimension and Earthand making some new friends along the way.
The Pokemon Company International is shopping a new feature-length animated film, Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. The movie features Ash and Pikachu, plus other classic Pokemon as well as those making their animation debut from the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y videogames.
ABC will air back-to-back eps of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D next Tuesday, April 15, that tie into the new film Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Amazon Instant Video subscribers will now be able to watch full episodes of The Mother Company’s Ruby’s Studio series on the digital platform. Beginning this week, the following shows featuring delightful signature host Ruby are available in both HD and SD: Ruby’s Studio: The Safety Show (2013), offering kids language and tools to keep themselves safe with an empowering, non-fearful approach; Ruby’s Studio: The Friendship Show (2013), featuring tips to help kids make and nurture lasting friendships; and Ruby’s Studio: The Feelings Show (2010), which helps kids understand and appropriately express their feelings. "We’re incredibly proud of the series and are thrilled to collaborate with Amazon to offer our shows via Amazon Instant Video in order to expand our audience," says Abbie Schiller, Mother Company founder/CEO.
Aussie development studio Flat Earth Games is releasing a new version of crafting-building-exploration game TownCraft for iPhone and Mac. The new game updates the current iPad version and includes four new levels, 30 new resources, new building types and structures and 44 new quests.

It’s MIP week, and that means a load of international news… Teletoon Canada picked up a second season of 9 Story Entertainment’s Camp Lakebottom. The series, which premiered on the network last July, also got a nod from Disney XD in the U.S., multiple international Disney Channels in the U.K., Ireland, Benelux, Italy, Spain, Portugal, CEE including Poland, Asia including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and India, Middle East, Turkey, South and Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. It has also been licensed to ABC TV (Australia), Super RTL (Germany), Canal + Family (France) and Noga (Israel).
Lots of new deals for the new season of DreamWorks Classics’ series The Owl & Co. in Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with partners including Super RTL (Germany), DR (Denmark) Planeta Junior (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus) MBC (Middle East) Minika Channel (Turkey) and TVB (Hong Kong). Season two continues to follow The Owl, whose sole desire is to hunt caterpillars without being distracted. However, the forest he inhabits is populated with batty animals, all of whom are ongoing sources of trouble and annoyance.
Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific signed on for the second season of action-adventure series Bushwhacked!, from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF), for its Discovery Kids channel and Super RTL (Germany). The series will broadcast to more than 44 countries across Germany, Asia, the Pacific, the Indian subcontinent and Middle East. Season two features Kayne Tremills’ new co-host, Kamil Ellis and is shot in locations around Australia.
In other ACTF news… German public broadcaster ARD Hessischer Rundfunk acquired live-action time-warp comedy series Worst Year of My Life Again! from the Australian Children’s Television Foundation for broadcast on Germany’s public channel for kids, KiKA.
Studio 100 Media nabbed distribution rights to the 2D animation series Knietzsche from German studio vision X. The agreement encompasses all broadcasting rights, including home video and digital, and extends to worldwide territories excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Targeted at 5-12-year-olds, the series features the world’s smallest philosopher pondering life’s big questions.
PicsArt Photo Studio users can now purchase the Garfield clipart package from the PicsArt Shop and create their own masterpieces using the lasagna–loving, Monday–hating fat cat and his friends thanks to a new deal between SocialIn Inc. and Paws Inc.
