DISTRIBUTION
CBS Television Distribution sold Face the Truth, a talk show from Jay McGraw’s Stage 29 Productions and hosted by Vivica A. Fox, into syndication for a fall 2018 launch. Anchored by the CBS Television Stations group in 10 major markets, including New York and Los Angeles, the hour-long strip will air on stations owned by Cox Television, Meredith Corp., Graham Media Group, Hearst Television and Weigel Broadcasting.
ADVERTISING
Despite concern about whether or not the Roseanne reboot would attract advertising, with party politics playing a key role in ABC’s new look at the Connor family, major brands bought airtime during the show’s two-episode premiere. TV data company Alphonso pulled the list of commercials and found that Chevrolet and Diet Pepsi staked the biggest claims with two 30-second ads each. Meanwhile, Subway and Ashley Homestore doubled-down with two shorter duration commercials.
CASTING
Charlene Yi (House) is set to guest star on FOX’s Lucifer, later this spring… Sonya Walgar (Lost) is joining Season 2 of EPIX’s Get Shorty… Amber Stevens West (The Carmichael Show) landed the female lead in CBS’ comedy pilot from Tim McAuliffe and Austen Earl and The Late Late Show with James Corden EP Ben Winston.
