Tomi Lahren’s show, Tomi, was reportedly yanked for at least a week from conservative net TheBlaze after right-winger Lahren said on ABC’s The View that she’s pro-choice. “I’m for limited government, so stay out of my guns, and you can stay out of my body as well,” Lahren told the talk show audience on Friday’s episode. Tuesday, Lahren tweeted, “This life can be lonely. Thank you to those – on all sides of the political spectrum – for the support. Agree/disagree, it means the world.”

History is developing a scripted anthology series, The Commanders, dramatizing pivotal moments in U.S. history that defined the nation’s presidents. Limited series from 4 to 10 hours in length would tell the stories of Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Theodore Roosevelt, James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, for starters. “From the contemporary history of Clinton’s impeachment and its lasting impact on the nation’s political landscape and Reagan’s influence that defined the Republican Party for generations, to Jefferson’s creation of the military might of the U.S. Marines – these defining stories forged our nation,” said Jana Bennett, president and GM of History. “‘The Commanders’ would bring history to life and speak to the crises we face in modern times.”
A panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals reversed a 2015 decision that online service FilmOn should be eligible to license broadcast TV programming. While the federal Copyright Act gives cable and satellite companies the right to pay for broadcast content, “FilmOn and other Internet-based retransmission services are neither clearly eligible nor clearly ineligible for the compulsory license,” said the court. “The Copyright Office says they are not eligible. Because the Office’s views are persuasive, and because they are reasonable, we defer to them.” That’s good news for broadcasters, who have argued that a service capturing copyrighted works broadcast over the air, then retransmitting them for paying subscribers, should not be considered a cable system.
Scott and Deirdre Gurney were reinstated as heads of Gurney Productions by an LA Superior Court judge, who granted the Gurneys’ request for an injunction against ITV America. ITV had removed the couple in December amid allegations of fraud. In a statement, ITV said it “respects the court’s ruling today in which the judge expressly declined to opine on the merits of ITV’s claims and instead decided on a preliminary issue of contractual interpretation. We remain very confident of success in the merits of our case and fully expect to win once the allegations of deceit, fraud and self-dealing by the Gurney’s are exposed at a full trial.” ITV is appealing the judge’s ruling.
