Cartoon is powering up more Powerpuff Girls, and this time they’re headed to gaming platform Steam. On the heels of their successful recent TV movie Dance Pantsed, the trio is starring in their first Steam game, The Powerpuff Girls: Defenders of Townsville! Developed by Radian Games, the Metroidvania-style game combines classic and new PPG, with the option to play in either the original or modern art style while still battling evil Mojo Jojo monkey business and saving the world before bedtime.
Pay close attention to the action on the red carpet at Disney’s RDMAs on April 26. Maddy Whitby, on-air talent from Radio Disney, will be strutting her stuff in a dress made entirely of, wait for it, Duck Tape. The couture is part of Duck Tape’s integrated sponsorship of the event. "We are right in their wheelhouse, and they wanted to see of one of the talent would wear a dress made entirely of their product," Disney Media Sales EVP Rita Ferro tells CynKids. Project Runway season 11 winner Michelle Lesniak is at work on a few colorful options for Maddy to chose from. Disney is also holding a Ducked Out Sweepstakes. Through April 19 entrants can post a photo of their Duck Tape creation on Instagram using hashtag #RDMADuckedOut. A winner will receive a trip for five to the RDMAs and a meet and greet with Maddy.
Healthy eating entertainment brand Nutri Ventures is heading to school with a new buddy, the Partnership for a Healthier America. The first-ever agreement between the PHA and an animated series will make access to the first three seasons of Nutri Ventures: The Quest for the 7 Kingdoms available free to all US public elementary school, almost 60,000 in total. Nutri Ventures also will provide additional educational material, and characters will be available to the school systems to help promote education. Additionally, Nutri Ventures will donate to PHA a percentage of net profits from sales of licensed products in the US. All 29 episodes of the series are on Hulu at http://www.hulu.com/nutri-ventures. Eleven eps are available for free, with additional episodes available to consumers on Hulu Plus.

Nothing brings families together like oohing and aahing over adorable animals. Hallmark Channel definitely got the memo, and the net in summer 2015 will prance out a new tradition for sports lovers and cat enthusiasts alike. The Kitten Paw-Star Game will feature MLB players and coaches cheering on kittens as they tackle hurdles, jumps and play with various toys. Rovio owned and operated video channel ToonsTV surpassed 2 billion views (225 million video views per month) since launching a year ago. The average time a viewer spent on a video was 12-15 minutes; 4-6 videos were watched in a single sitting; and the audience (30% kids, 30% teens and 40% adults) used mobiles and tablets in a 50/50 split. ToonsTV includes original Angry Birds content and third-party content from Hasbro Studios, National Geographic and more, which can all be accessed in the Angry Birds apps and channels on Samsung Smart TVs and Roku devices.
Nick president Cyma Zarghami told CynKids the Nick Jr App will bear resemblance to the Nick App but with a clear purpose for preschoolers. Characters including Dora the Explorer and Gil from Bubble Guppies will speak directly to users upon opening the app, and "It will go a little slower be a little less dense in terms of content, and be discovery-driven," she says. The app debuts this spring first for iPad devices, and will include games, shortform video and curriculum content. Like it’s big brother, with authentication, users can access full-length eps and live streaming of network shows.
