Step Four: CREATE YOUR TARGET LIST – Think strategically about finding the best company and best job for you. Make a Target List – cast a wide net. Divide your list into three columns, I like to call them the three Ps:

The Usual Prospects: Who are the key players you need to be networked with? What other organizations in your industry would you like to work for?

The Pivots: Who are organizations and people that enable you to take your existing skill sets and make a slight pivot into a different area or different industry?

The Passions: What are you passionate about, and how can you merge your passions with your skills to create space and make money in an area that you are truly passionate about? 

Step Five: BUILD A NETWORKING PLAN – Think of who you will target, when and how. Don’t be afraid to ask for help: utilize the power of your own network and network of friends and family. Never forget to ask how you can help them or return the favor. Always think about paying it forward – it will create a ripple effect that will keep your network growing and getting stronger. Be a Go-Giver, consider reading one of the recommended books on our MVP Book Club. The Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann.

Step Six: OPENING THE DOORS – People are busy and you need to create a meaningful reason for them to want to talk with you and help you. We can help you navigate through the right way to do this, the appropriate way to approach your network and contacts to get in the door.
