Old TV channels don’t die, they just go digital. At least that’s the case with A+E Networks‘ Bio, which will be replaced with FIY channel this summer, but live on online. Say Media and A+E have partnered on Bio.com and LiftetimeMoms.com, with Say Media assuming responsibility for editorial, sales, technology and marketing for both websites, and A+E continuing to provide video to Bio.com. The companies will share profits from ad sales on the sites, an arrangement A+E Network’s EVP, digital Dan Suratt calls "a great win-win" for both.

Kirstie creator/executive producer (and Kirstie Alley pal) Marco Pennette will not return to the TV Land comedy for its sophomore season for personal reasons, reports Deadline, opting instead for a job as consulting producer on CBS‘s Mom. Kirstie’s first season finale aired Wednesday.
Toronto mayor and frequent late night target Rob Ford will guest on ABC‘s Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, March 3. Kimmel greeted Ford, currently smack in the middle of a crack-smoking scandal, at the airport Saturday in a chauffeur outfit, telling his guest, "Great to have you here, it’s gonna be fun." Thursday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live surged over the day prior 45 percent in total viewers, to 3.56 million, according to Nielsen, for its second most-watched telecast ever on any night in late night, behind only the Matt Damon takeover episode in January 2013. Guests on the ABC late nighter were Kerry Washington, Michael Strahan and musical guest Juicy J featuring Wiz Khalifa.
Even without the Olympics, NBC‘s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon still led late night, finishing its second week with an average 5.45 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among A18-49. That’s down from Fallon’s premiere week, but the most-watched regular week since Jay Leno‘s return from his nine-month… "hiatus" in 2010.
NBC‘s Hannibal debuted season two on a new night, Friday, to 3.4 million total viewers and a 1.1 rating among A18-49. That’s no match for its series premiere (4.4 million/1.6) in a Thursday slot, but a major boost from its freshman finale (2 million/.8 in the demo).
The season two premiere of History‘s Vikings averaged 3.6 million total viewers, 1.8 million A25-54 and 1.7 million A18-49. Among cable dramas this year, that puts it behind only AMC’s Walking Dead and FX‘s American Horror Story: Coven. While it’s down from last year’s The Bible-led series premiere, which had 6.2 million viewers, the debut was up 3 percent in total viewers and 6 percent in the A18-49 demo from season one’s last four episodes, which didn’t have the Bible advantage.
Maybe absence does make the heart grow fonder. ABC‘s Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal both returned from winter hibernation up from their last original episodes: Grey’s jumped from 2.7/7 on December 12 to 3.1/9, while Scandal went from 3.2/9 to 3.4/10.
In its new 9p time period, CBS‘s Two and a Half Men was first in viewers (10.05 million) and A25-54 (3.5/09), and second in A18-49 (2.5/7), its best viewer and A18-49 deliveries since the fall premiere.
Thursday’s season three premiere of WE tv‘s Mary Mary delivered 958,000 P2+, 62 percent over the season two premiere, and 582,000 A18-49, a 59 percent hike.
Thursday A18-49 Analysis: CBS won the most A18-49 viewers Thursday with 2.6/8, according to Nielsen. CBS took the lead at the 8p hour with a 3.6 average for The Big Bang Theory and the Millers, followed by Fox’s American Idol, with 2.4/8. ABC grabbed 9p with 3.1/9 for Grey’s Anatomy, back with new eps, while a 2.2/6 average for Two and a Half Men and The Crazy Ones placed CBS second. ABC’s Scandal dominated at 10p with 3.4/10, versus 1.6/5 for CBS’s Elementary.
