Syndicated talk show “Rachael Ray” will wrap after 17 years at the end of this season. “My passions have evolved from the talk show format production and syndication model to a platform unencumbered by the traditional rules of distribution,” said Ray, who has launched Free Food Studios. “I am truly excited to be able to introduce and develop new and upcoming epicurean talent on all platforms….Thank you to all of our ‘Rachael’ daytime show partners, crew and affiliates, and the wonderful years we all worked together.”

Paramount Global will pay $122.5 million to settle an investor lawsuit that alleged Viacom directors violated their fiduciary responsibility to shareholders by pursuing the 2019 Viacom-CBS merger. Paramount has said the merger was necessary to compete with larger rivals.

Advertisers with socially conscious corporate initiatives – and who increase their ad spend on FOX – will be eligible for free primetime commercials on the network, as part of Fox’s MVP (Mission, Vision, Purpose) program. Spots will not sell products, and Fox will sell only one MVP package per quarter.

Paramount+ drama “Star Trek: Discovery” will end with upcoming season five, set to debut in early 2024. The streamer’s longest-running series will go out with a bang, celebrated with events and appearances in markets around the world.

Fifty-six percent of Gen Zers report nostalgia makes them happy, according to audience insights company GWI. Movies (71%) are most likely to bring on nostalgic feelings, followed by music (64%) and TV shows (60%).

NewsNation is welcoming new on-air contributors in the areas of medicine, law, the military, politics, national security, media and business. The network is adding a third hour to “NewsNation Live” beginning today, March 6 at 10a.

Nicely Entertainment is commencing production on its first Arizona-based original movie production, “Mysteries of the Heart,” for Pure Flix, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film centers around a true-crime podcaster struggling to come to terms with the loss of her baby and subsequent divorce.

FOX Entertainment announced the names of the five Fellows for the 2023 FOX Writers Incubator, designed to nurture diverse and creative voices. Selected from over 1300 submissions were Savannah Lobel, Annie C. Wright, Jade Puga & Richard Montes and Kimba Henderson.

NEW & RETURNING SERIES

A new season of “Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail” kicks off Friday, April 7 at 9p on Discovery. In the season premiere, Parker and his crew arrive in Peru to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Incas.

TBS’s “AEW: All Access” premieres Wednesday, March 29 at 10p, after “AEW: Dynamite.” The follow-doc offers a look at AEW’s stars as they navigate the week-to-week challenges to remain at the top and will track the rivalries between talent as they vie for fans’ attention.

New series “A Town Called Malice” premieres Sunday, April 16 at 9p on Showcase and Stacky. The family saga follows gangsters who relocate from London to Spain.

Season 3 of the documentary comedy series “De Viage con los Derbez” will premiere Friday, April 7 in the US (including Puerto Rico) with two new episodes every week on Prime Video.

Also returning for a third season is dramedy “Como Sobrevivir Soltero” (How to Survive Being Single), on Wednesday, March 22 on Prime Video.

Limited series “Florida Man” debuts Thursday, April 13 on Netflix. The drama follows an ex-cop forced to return to his home state of Florida to find a mobster’s runaway girlfriend.

E! has three original romantic comedy movies on tap for this summer: “Arranged in Love,” centered on a woman who flees from an arranged marriage in India, only to have to feign marriage to get her inheritance; “Ms. Match,” about a single woman working for a dating company; and “Platonic,” following best friends who decide to date each other.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” starts streaming on Peacock on Friday, March 10. The film has been nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Animated Feature.

Model Ashley Graham, actor Vanessa Hudgens and Lilly Singh will host “Countdown to the Oscars,” ahead of the 95th Oscars on Sunday, March 12, 6:30p on ABC. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” was the number one US streaming program during its debut week, according to Nielsen, and with 2.3 billion viewing minutes became the most-streamed movie since 2020.

Week two of Food Network’s “Tournament of Champions” posted a 1.2 P18+ / 1.5 W18+ Live+3 rating, up vs. prior week (+2% and +3% respectively), as well as vs. prior six weeks (+85% and +74%) and YAGO (both +10%) timeslot benchmarks. Food Network ranked as the #2 non-news/sports cable network in Sunday Prime among P18+ and P25-54 (#1 non-news/sports among M25-54). To date, season 4 has reached more than 5 million P2+ viewers.

The opening weekend of LIV Golf on The CW averaged over 3.2 million viewers across platforms, reports the network. “This was a great start for LIV Golf and a great debut for CW Sports,” said Dennis Miller, President of The CW Network. “We are really encouraged by the dramatic viewership increases we saw across our affiliates.”

The Hollywood Critics Association announced that the 2023 HCA Film Awards saw its highest viewership to date, quadrupling the view count of last year’s HCA TV Awards. The 2023 HCA Film Awards ceremony has been viewed by over 1 million people globally.
