A fairy tale mashup is headed to Disney Junior via new series Goldie & Bear. Currently in production, the series will debut in the fall and follows newfound friends Goldie and Bear (they’ve gotten over the whole porridge incident) as they encounter well-known characters including Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty and The Three Little Pigs. Natalie Lander (The Middle) stars as Goldie, alongside Georgie Kidder (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) as Bear. The series was created by children’s book author Jorge Aguirre (Giants Beware!) and developed for TV by Aguirre and Rick Gitelson (Handy Mandy).

Nickelodeon’s Live+7 Ratings Validate Program Popularity.
Nickelodeon’s Live+7 Ratings are stronger than ever. Over seven days, premiere episodes see a lift as high as 80%, showing that viewers are watching their favorite shows beyond their premiere dates.
Details are emerging about some of the initial content to debut on YouTube Kids. Thomas & Friends are headed to the YT channel and app via exclusive three-minute digital shorts developed by HIT Entertainment and rolling out weekly beginning in March. Shorts will feature Thomas and the crew having adventures off the Island of Sodor in destinations including London, Paris, and NY. New content includes:
* Around the World: Videos in 2D comic strip-style animation that take
Thomas to across the globe.
* Live Action Playroom Shorts: Thomas comes to life as a toy in a child’s playroom. We smell a big marketing opportunity.
* Thomas Comedy Showtime: Thomas mashups accompanied by humorous sports-style commentary.
* Classic Songs: Favorite songs from the original live-action TV series set to new CG animation.
* Mr. Perkins’ Story Time: The Thomas & Friends driver narrates tales from the classic Railway Series storybooks.
Get ready for Freaktown. Portfolio Entertainment is seeking distribution for its new half-hours series aimed at 6-11-year-olds that follows the oddball adventures of skeleton Ben Bones and his friends as they try to avoid their nemesis. The series was created by Peter Ricq and Philippe Ivanusic (The League of Super Evil).
Splash Entertainment is moving ahead with production of three additional animated adventures in the Kulipari series, based on the books An Army of Frogs by former NFL player Trevor Pryce. Nicolas Atlan and Mike Young, Splash co-CEOs, and Pryce will produce the new Kulipari: The Rainbow Serpent titles and Kulipari: Amphibians End I & II, based on the second and third book in the series. Mark Hamill (Star Wars, The Flash) Keith David (Crash, Community), Wendie Malick (The Emperor’s New Groove), and Josh Keaton (Hercules, Green Lantern: The Animated Series) are onboard as voice talent for all six titles. Additionally, Pryce’s Outlook Company will launch the Kulipari: Batallion mobile app for iOS and Android, and the company signed with Under Armour for merch.

Nick.com is a Kids’ Hub for Content.
Nickelodeon’s digital platform keeps evolving. With a fresh new look and feel, Nick.com is attracting 9 million kids per month and continues to be a central hub for gaming and video content.
Sprout will premiere Super Wings on March 14, a new series it picked up from content company CJ E&M about the adventures of a jet plane named Jett who travels the world delivering packages to children. On each delivery, Jett encounters new problems he solves with the “Super Wings,” a group of airplanes who can transform into robots with amazing abilities. The show is co-produced by FunnyFlux, QianQi, Little Airplane Productions and EBS. CJ E&M is the master toy partner.
Amazon Studios renewed four kids series: preschool-targeted Creative Galaxy and Tumble Leaf, plus live-actioners Gortimer Gibbon’s Life On Normal Street and Annedroids, aimed at the 6-11-year-old set.
VOD network Kabillion debuted its first SVOD mobile app, Kabillion Jr, available for iOS and Android devices in the US. Targeting preschoolers, the app features programs such as Chloe’s Closet, Dive Olly Dive and other new and classic animated TV series. Parents can sign up for a monthly subscription at kabillion.vhx.tv. Kabillion recently made a deal with multichannel network Base79 to expand its viewership and audience on its YouTube channel, which has 20,000 subscribers).
Episodes of Lawless Entertainment’s Olive the Ostrich are now available via subscription on the PlayKids video platform for smart phones, devices and tablets. The series already airs on Sprout in the US.

Nickelodeon’s Ecosystem Keeps Getting Bigger.
Nickelodeon has a powerful, 10-screen ecosystem that connects brands to our audience as well as Consumer Products, Movie Partnerships, Apps, Recreation, Social Media and Live Events.
A new deal with DreamWorks Classics is bringing additional content to Hopster, the UK kids platform. Additionally, a Hopster app will soon launch on Android to join its existing iOS offering. Hopster acquired multi-territory distribution rights to seven DreamWorks titles, including Postman Pat, Rupert Bear, and Noddy in Toyland, which will begin rolling out this spring. The platform currently streams 23 other shows, including Paddington Bear, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, and 64 Zoo Lane.
Highlights for Children released a new digital app called All About for iOS and Android tablets. The app complements the new All About book series and contains 12 themed digital editions such as All About Winter, All About Music & Dance, and All About Camping. Features include record-your-own videos, My First Hidden Pictures puzzles and virtual stickers.
Outfit7 animated series Talking Tom and Friends will be on the YouTube Kids app and the YT channel with 52 episodes featuring the characters shooting their own reality TV show. The brand already has received 1.4 billion YT views and 2.5 billion mobile downloads.

Mobile Business Growth is Integral to Nickelodeon’s All-for-One Strategy.
As kids keep consuming content across screens, Nickelodeon is there to meet them. Our mobile business has increased six-fold over the past two years.
Entertainment One Licensing is offering Peppa Pig product to the mass market this year for the first time and has signed a host of new licensees, including Amscan, Palamon, Better Toyz, Primary Colors and Fiesta Toy. They join Peppa master toy licensee, Jazwares. The series airs daily on Nick Jr.
Canada’s YTV will premiere live-action sitcom The Stanley Dynamic on Thursday, March 19, at 7:30p. The series is about a typical family with a big twist-one of their twin sons is animated. It’s co-created by Ken Cuperus, produced by Amaze Film + Television, with animation produced by 9 Story Media Group.
Trophies for the 3rd International Emmy Kids Awards went to Spain’s Polseres Vermelles (The Red Band Society); Sweden’s Wild Kids; UK’s Mike The Knight; Chile’s Con Que Suenas? (What’s Your Dream), France’s Jungle Bunch to the Rescue and the Netherlands’ Alles Mag (Anything Goes). Presenting partners for the show included Shaw Rocket Fund, Hasbro Studios, SVT/DRTV, TV Kids, WDR mediagroup, Junior@MipTV and Ernst & Young.
Bob Chapek is the new Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. A 22-year Disney employee who most recently was President of Disney Consumer Products, Chapek replaces Tom Staggs, who was recently named COO of the company.
