FOX Sports locked in its lineup for its 22nd consecutive season of MLB coverage, unveiling its schedule for the 2017 MLB season on FS1, the FOX broadcast network, and FOX Deportes. Once again, the slate will the 2017 All-Star Game from Marlins Park on the FOX broadcast network, as well as the American League Division and Championship rounds on both FS1 and FOX as well as the World Series airing on FOX. The national broadcast schedule includes a minimum of 72 game telecasts across FOX and FS1. In addition, FOX Sports’ Regional Networks will serve up more than 2,260 games and carry exclusive partnerships with 15 teams: the Angels, Braves, Brewers, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Indians, Marlins, Padres, Rangers, Rays, Reds, Royals, Tigers, Twins and Yankees. Meanwhile, FOX Deportes lands 30 regular season game telecasts in addition to coverage of the American League Division and Championship Series as well as the World Series. FS1 broadcasts a total of 39 regular season games, beginning April 5 with Yankees/Rays at 7p. FOX’s roster of 33 regular season games begins May 6 with Yankees/Cubs at 7p.
Speaking of baseball, MLB approved a measure to speed up play, voting to change the intentional walk rule. The shift will now see the traditional four-pitch walk evolve to a dugout signal, which would eliminate about a minute of dead time per walk, according to the AP.
And then there were two. Budapest has officially withdrawn its bid to host the 2024 Olympic Games, leaving LA and Paris as the sole two finalists. Recent reports suggest with the loser of the 2024 bid will instead be awarded hosting duties for 2028. The IOC will select the host city in September.
Univision Deportes once again saw its Super Clasico coverage deliver results, with Saturday’s telecast on Univision and UDN averaging 2.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen. The presentation also brought in 1.4 million Adults 18-49.
Tennis Channel announced plans for its first multiplatform series, My Tennis Life. The series follows tour veteran Sam Groth and rising American star Nicole Gibbs as they navigate the 2017 schedule with programs running both on-air and online. The network will chronicle both athletes throughout the year, with special emphasis during the BNP Paribas Open, the remaining Grand Slams, as well as other select tour and challenger events. Groth and Gibbs will also produce their own content in the form of videos, photos, blogs and social media posts when Tennis Channel is not there to record their lives.
NBA Digital is tackling NBA trade deadline coverage throughout the day today, lining up the latest news and analysis across NBA TV, the NBA App, NBA.com and social media platforms. NBA TV’s expanded programming lineup will tip off at 1p with the NBA Trade Deadline Show, offering four hours of studio coverage and live reports from around the NBA, followed by hour-long editions of The Starters at 5p, 10 Before Tip at 6p, and NBA GameTime at 7p. The network’s NBA Trade Deadline Show simulcast on NBA.com and the NBA App will be hosted by Matt Winer alongside David Aldridge, Stu Jackson, Sekou Smith and Bleacher Report’s NBA cap expert Eric Pincus.
NBC Sports carries six straight PGA TOUR events starting this week, beginning with The Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, the first of six straight TOUR events airing exclusively on Golf Channel and NBC leading up to the Masters. Live Golf Channel coverage runs 2-6p today and Friday and 1-3p over the weekend. Meanwhile, NBC plays host on Saturday and Sunday from 3-6p.
BTN announced its coverage of Big Ten men’s and women’s lacrosse in 2017, televising at least 29 games, including six postseason matchups, and streaming approximately 30 other games via BTN Plus. Men’s television coverage begins Feb. 28 with Wagner/Rutgers at 3p while Syracuse/Maryland open women’s coverage on march 11 at 1p. Leading BTN’s coverage is a group of analysts that includes Mark Dixon and Sheehan Stanwick Burch, along with play-by-play announcers Joe Beninati, Mike Wolf and Pete Medhurst.

The product will be available in 120 countries and territories at launch, with plans to continue expanding the NASCAR TrackPass footprint throughout 2017. NASCAR Track Pass is powered by Playmaker Media, NBC Sports Digital’s technology service providing end-to-end support for companies in need of best-in-class live streaming and VOD solutions.
The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced that the first-ever Facebook Live broadcast of a women’s professional golf tournament round will take place at the season-opening event. An all-female announce team will broadcast the final round of the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic on March 12 from 4-6p, marking the first time that the Symetra Tour has ever showcased live golf. The broadcast will originate from the LPGA’s Facebook page with the Tour contracting VISTA Worldlink to manage the technical aspects and produce the broadcast.
Digital platform Overtime revealed a close of seed round of $2.5 million. Greycroft lead the round and Ken Miller Capital, Afore Ventures, Fitz Gate Ventures, 645 Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Alpha Horizon, TACK Ventures Chaac Ventures and Edward Lando, Jordan Levy along with former NBA commissioner David Stern. The company’s initial focus has been building better tools for mobile video capture and editing.
