Call for creative kidsNational Geographic Kids and the National Geographic Society are inviting kids to create a flag to fly on a National Geographic research ship during the Ocean Now expedition in 2010. The Ocean Flag contest ( www.kids.nationalgeographic.com/contests/Ocean-flag-contest) aims to encourage kids/tweens 8-14 to learn about ocean exploration and conservation.  The contest also requires kids to write an essay describing the inspiration for their design.  Ocean researchers will serve as judges and choose their top 10 designs, and will then invite kids to go online and vote for the final winner.  The contest runs until February 20, 2010, with the winner announced online in April 2010. (Check out the site for specific details).
