Upfront 2013: The Weather Channel
The Weather Channel hosted its first Upfront presentation – ever. At the Mandarin Oriental in New York City, Weather Company Chairman CEO David Kenny announced five new series, three new web series, and a refresh of the network’s look. The Weather Channel and Twitter have also formed a partnership to enable video in-Tweet using Twitter cards technology. Meteorologists Jim Cantore and Maria LaRosa co-hosted the event, which was kicked off by The Human Weather Choir, who created a rainstorm using their voices and bodies. Really, it was very cool. Here’s a look at some of what the network has coming up.

Weather That Changed The World, which premieres Thursday, June 6, at 9p, focuses on how extreme conditions created dramatic turning points in history. (Produced by Pioneer Productions)
