Upfront 2013: Discovery en Espanol
Discovery U.S. Hispanic unveiled its 2013-2014 Upfront slate, yesterday in New York. “Based on our proven success, we are strengthening our programming slate with new series based on our viewers’ well-known passions and preferences, along with returning favorites that support our traditional quality content,” said Ivan Bargueiras, General Manager, Discovery U.S. Hispanic’s networks. Here’s a look at some of the highlights.
- Discovery en Espanol presents a mix of edgy programs from adrenaline stories, like Hombre en la mira (Manhunt), a series that challenges an experienced Special Operations warrior to survive, evade, resist, and escape in a foreign land; to real life dramas like La verdad increible (The Unbelievable Truth), a show that takes viewers across the globe to meet India’s child snake charmers and Britain’s vampire brothers.
- Un bebe por minuto (One Born Every Minute), from Discovery Familia, takes a look at the drama and emotion of a maternity unit, from the perspective of the parents-to-be and the maternity ward staff.
- Limpieza obsesiva Limpieza obsesiva (Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners), another entry from Discovery Familia, takes a look at a group of people who wage a constant war on dirt and order.
- On the beauty front, Discovery Familia presents Coseme, estirame, emparejame! (Stitch me, Lift me, Tuck me), a documentary that exposes life behind the doors of one of the most exclusive cosmetic surgery clinics, Harley Street Skin, revealing the intimate workings of this multi-million dollar business.
