10/13/09

Good morning. It’s Tuesday, October 13, 2009, and this is your first early morning Kids briefing.

Cartoon Network Digital unveils the redesign of its official site ( www.cartoonnetwork.com ) and the launch of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars Game Creator.  The newly revamped CartoonNetwork.com has been redesigned with the goal of better promoting network shows, showcase the 200+ free-to-play online games, video, and interactive content as well as optimize advertising.  Star Wars: The Clone Wars Game Creator invites users to play as a series character, select a vehicle and build their own part of the Clone Wars universe, which they can then share with others via CartoonNetwork.com.

NEW PRODUCTION & DEVELOPMENT

Moonscoop begins production on the new 2D HD flash-animated series, The DaVincibles (52×11), co-created and co-produced with Italy’s Neo Network, which is part of Zodiak Entertainment.  Targeted to K7-11, the series is a co-production with Rai Fiction, SLR, Telegael and Big Animation. The show has already pre-sold to Gulli (France) and Seven (Australia) and is set for delivery in late 2010.  Worldwide distribution for The DaVincibles will be handled by Moonscoop, with Neo Network managing the rights in Italy, and Big Animation handling Asia and SLR overseeing sales in Australia and New Zealand.  The comedy caper revolves around siblings, Lisa and Pablo, and their inept Uncle Leo DaVinci as they travel the world in search of artifacts to sell at Leo’s shop and meet up with villains trying to thwart their efforts.

Director Sam Raimi is hoping to be in production on Spider-Man 4 in March 2010, according to an MTV interview with Raimi.  Sony and Marvel Studios had already announced the movie would release on May 6, 2011.  The director says that pre-production is underway and that he just provided screenwriter Gary Ross with some notes for a rewrite.  He also said that a production designer is working on the sets and environments for the feature and that Scott Stokdyk is returning as one of two visual effects supervisors  he worked on the previous three Spidey movies.
