~ MORE STUFF ~

World Wrestling Entertainment and USA Network made a four-year renewal deal involving the show WWE Monday Night Raw, keeping the show on USA through fall 2014. WWE Monday Night Raw, on the air for more than 16 years, presently averages 2.7 million A18-49 viewers; 2.7 million A25-54 viewers; and 5.5 million total viewers.

BBC America set the US premiere date for its unique modeling competition reality series Britain’s Missing Top Model for December 1 at 9p. The series follows eight young women who all want to be models though each has varying degrees of disability. The women, who all share an apartment in London, take on various weekly challenges and face weekly eliminations. The final winner receives a photo shoot with one of Britain’s best fashion photographers, a four-page spread in Marie Claire magazine and an introduction to the head of a top modeling agency.

TBS released ratings results for the inaugural week of Lopez Tonight at 11p (11/9-11/12). The late-night talk show averaged 1.0 million A18-49; 597,000 A18-34; and 1.6 million total viewers. The show did best on Wednesday night delivering 1.2 million A18-49 and 2.0 million total viewers. Also of note, Lopez Tonight averaged a median viewer age of 33 years last week, which is less than all the competing late-night talk shows. Lopez Tonight airs Monday-Thursday at 11p on TBS.

This Wednesday at 11p, VERSUS offers viewers a sneak preview of the new original series Sports Jobs with Junior Seau, chronicling the NFL champ as he tries out various jobs across other sports such as car racing and bull fighting. Ten half-hour episodes will premiere in its regular time period of Wednesdays at 10p beginning December 2 with two back-to-back episodes.

MTV game show host of Remote Control Ken Ober died at the age of 52. Ober was the host of the series for five seasons on MTV, airing first in 1987. The series helped launched the careers of several notables, including Denis Leary and Adam Sandler. He followed the series as producer of Mind of Mencia for Comedy Central and also as a consulting producer for several episodes of The New Adventures of Old Christine on CBS. Ober got his start as a stand up comedian on Star Search in 1984 where he was named the Comedian Champion. No cause of death has been identified as yet.

BBC Worldwide named ZenithOptimedia as its sole global media agency of record. ZenithOptimedia will work in the US on media strategies and campaigns for BBC’s businesses including BBC America, BBC.com and other brands BBC Earth, Top Gear, Doctor Who and the BBC US newscast BBC World News America.

~ DISTRIBUTION, CLEARANCE & CARRIAGE ~

After opening #1 at the box office this past weekend, FX picked up the television rights to the apocalyptic film 2012 from Sony, cites THR. The thriller will debut on FX in early 2012. FX recently acquired the Sony film Zombieland which will be available at the end of 2010.

Sinclair Broadcast Group helped resurrect syndicated court show Judge Karen after Sony declared it would no longer represent court shows, reports B&C. Wanting the show to continue, Sinclair Broadcast Group presented the show to other syndicators with Litton Entertainment picking it up for next fall. The show, now called Judge Karen’s Court and starring Judge Karen Mills-Francis, is expected to have other TV station groups acquire it.

Digital Rights Group (DRG) made a slew of international deals involving the drama series Collision, created by Anthony Horowitz (Foyle’s War, Stormbreaker) and co-written by Horowitz and Michael A. Walker. Distributed by DRG’s Portman Film & Television unit, Collision was picked up by WGBH in the US; ABC in Australia, TVNZ in New Zealand; NRK in Norway; Finland’s Yleisradio Oy; Sweden’s Sveriges Television; TV2 in Denmark; and RTV Slovenija in Slovenia. Other broadcasters in Iceland, Israel, Belgium, Czech Republic and Latin America and considering picking up the series as well. Collision premiered last week in the UK on ITV1 in primetime, Monday-Friday with five one-hour episodes. The series is also available as two 110-minute episodes.

~ PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT ~

George Segal will star in the TV Land comedy pilot Retired at 35. The pilot project was announced last month along with comedy pilot Hot in Cleveland as the network’s first scripted comedy projects developed for TV Land PRIME. Retired at 35 is about a successful businessman who leaves the hectic pace of New York City behind and moves in with his parents at their Florida retirement home. Segal will portray the father who bonds with his son and shows him a great life of freedom. Segal was last seen in HBO’s Entourage and ABC’s Pushing Daisies and for seven seasons starred in the NBC ensemble sitcom Just Shoot Me.

Casting Call: FOX is calling all cooks at any level to appear with Chef Gordon Ramsay on Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live airing December 15 at 9p. The network is looking for people who have a passion for cooking but lack certain skills; those who always wanted to work with a professional chef; and fans of cooking shows who watch for inspiration and for recipes to create dishes or entire meals. Casting Call: Oxygen announced a national search for male and female contestants to appear on the second season of Dance Your Ass Off begins later this month. The series wants people who love to dance and are ready to loose weight. Friday A18-49 Analysis: Week to week, CBS stayed the course Friday night, winning among A18-49 at 1.9/6, according to final national ratings from Nielsen. CBS’ Ghost Whisperer was #1 at 8p with 2.0/7 followed by NBC’s Law & Order at 1.6/5. Then at 9p, CBS remained in the lead with Medium at 2.0/6 followed by a tie for second place between NBC’s Dateline and UNIV’s Sortilegio at 1.7/5 each. ABC took the 10p hour with 20/20 delivering a 2.0/6 with CBS’ Numb3rs next at 1.7/6.
